As long as the Keeper can't remain in one place long enough to set up the Federal Database and access the Secret Datacore, we can always wear him down and win. Slow and steady works as long as we don't allow any surprises. A fully loaded Drachian Mantis means that we will have more resources than any other opponent who is not similarly equiped.

Special Note: There is a predefined rubric that any entrant attempting to game the contest by deliberately destroying the Secret Datacore will not only lose but will receive negative win points for doing so. I will add rubrics as necessary to discourage similar gaming. Note also that your own keeper/grabber knowing about and defending against your own strategies is expected; however, trying to provide an advantage to your other entries will also result in you receiving negative win points,
Objectives:
- Grab the secret datacore and hide it until it is safe.
- Access the datacore and transmit its contents about the hostile aliens to everyone..
- Always ensure that the keeper does not maintain any static position on the planet long enough to set up and use the Federal Database to access the Secret Core.
- Attain space superiority by ensuring that the keeper ship has landed or by forcing it down.
- Attain air superiority and mobility superiority by assembling 3 Velvet Storms and forcing down and capturing vehicles wherever possible without potentially destroying a Federal Database that they may be carrying.
- Assault any static keeper positions, taking advantage of the air superiority. With our personnel (including 3 KB-119 Kilbots and Clone Troopers) and equipment (including 3 Vanguards) backed by the missiles of the Velvet Storms, our biggest worry is to not accidentally destroy the Secret Core.
- Whenever and wherever possible, encourage the keeper to split up his forces so he can be mopped up in detail. Do NOT allow him to use the same tactic on us.
- Aided by the Secret Agent's synergies, use the Drachian Mantis to find both the enemy ship (either on the planet or in space) and all possible dropship landing sites and bolt holes. If you find the keeper's ship on the surface, keep a close eye on all keeper personnel and equipment while using 2 Dropships to two different locations on the other side of the planet from the keeper landing site (also avoiding any Dropship sites) so that 3 Velvet Storms can be assembled and powered by Energy Cells one at a time.
If you see an unarmed ship, a Rhino, or an armed ship that the Mantis with Valro (Space Combat Officer) and Tyron (Space Pilot, Warfare) can defeat in orbit, attack it with the intent of forcing it to land so as to ensure that the Federal Database is not destroyed. If you see an armed ship that is potentially capable of defeating the Mantis (like another Mantis), use the Dropships and assemble the Velvet Storms. Once the Storms are available, if the keeper still has an armed ship in space, set up an encounter so that both the Mantis and the Velvet Storms can be involved in forcing it to land. Aided by 3 missile-armed Velvet Storms with Military Pilots, the Mantis should be able to force down anything that the keeper deploys. - After gaining space and air superiority, it's simply a matter of continuing to find and attack all static keeper sites that could potentially hold the Federal Database and capturing as many keeper vehicles as possible. While we really can't shoot down anything that could potentially be carrying the Federal Database or even just the data core, we almost certainly have an energy advantage and the advantage of numbers. As long as the Mantis stays in orbit watching all keeper activity and sending troops to wherever the Federal Database might be powering up, we should be OK.
- We will expect troops and/or traps to surround any Bunker or other defensive position. We will attempt to clear them before beginning our assault. Any time there is a Multipurpose Prefab, we will attempt to avoid hitting it so as to not destroy the Federal Database but will attempt to capture it ASAP.
Details:
- This is a Federation Military Mission with Syndicate Support due to the dire straits that humanity finds itself in. The Secret agent has The Rebellion Secrets. The Secret Agent and all personnel are Syndicate Chipped for the advantages and to keep the Rebel General in line (he was only brought on as the remaining best option for passenger combat skills). Everyone has N-Prime combat drugs. Alana Vos is extremely unhappy with all of this except the situation is dire, orders are orders and her Syndicate Chip makes it very hard to feel, or even hang on to, her anger.
- Arena Powersuits for those with the requisite toughness, Military Suit Class A for those who don't except the three Military Pilots who will initially wear Universal Fixer Suits for the Tech and swap them out for the Military Suits Class A from the equipment set.
- All software will be installed and used wherever possible
- Everyone will be equipped with Judgment Day rifles and Good Morning Sidearms with Autoguided Ammo.
- As the deck launcher couldn't handle a fully upgraded Mantis, my complete list (without equipped armor, weapons and ammunition) is as follows:
- Secret Agent & Drachian Mantis (8/4/8/6)
- Officers - Alana Vos, Admiral Valro, Ayumi
- Crew - Tyron, Oksana, 3 x Military Pilots, 3 x KB-119 Kilbot
- Equipment - Spare Federal Database, Medical Bay, 2 x Military Suit (Class A) Set for Military Pilots & Clone Troopers
- Cargo - 2 x Energy Cells, 3 x Velvet Storm, 3 x Vanguard, 2 x Exploration Dropship (3), AA/AT Turret, Soup & Cook
- Passengers - The Kumicho, Rebel General, 2 x Tech Expert, 2 x Unstable Genius Clone Stormtroopers
