Today I made a fun 3d scene using the Rubic's Cube that I modelled about a week ago. Basically I'm making a background image for my laptop home screen and so I came up with the idea of making the rubic's cube as if they are bouncing up and down. A random surreal interpretation of rubics cube.
In the beginning of my process I was just playing with a few pieces to check whether my laptop can handle the rendering requirement of the 3d software. Gradually, I increased the quantity of the pieces of rubics cube until I reached the effect that I wanted to achieve. The rotation of each piece of cubes are also randomized to give it a more playful appeal. At some point I felt muzzy whenever I stared for too long into the image and so I tried to lessen the effect by blurring some of the pieces. I guess the blurring also adds to the illusion of movement among the pieces.
By the way, If you think that the rendered images are good enough to be your screensaver or wallpaper, feel free to download and use it as it pleases you. Cheers!
Have a great day ahead of you.
