FREEDOMWAVE PART II
Hello everyone, this is part II a series of vaporwave art pieces that were inspired by philosophies of freedom. This piece was inspired by Patrick Henry and his famous "liberty or death" speech.
The Legacy of Patrick Henry
Patrick Henry was born May 29, 1736, in Hanover County, Virginia. He was one of the founders of the United State of America. His famous "liberty and death" speech was given at the Virginia Convention in March 1775. The group in attendance was in the midst of a debate on how to deal with Great Britain. Some wanted to deal with the British through force while others wanted to approach the situation through peaceful means. Henry was one who called his fellow revolutionaries to arms.
"Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? ... Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death!"
Henry will forever be remembered as a symbol of the spirit of American rebellion in the face of tyranny. His words were immortalized within United States history. Words that have echoed through the decades.
