Hello everybody! I have been a bit inactive over here, well, it is not that I haven't been working per se, but I just didn't feel motivated enough. Mental exhaustion can get the best of us, am I right?
Anyway, in the field of printing and graphic arts my two favorite techniques are drypoint and linocut, that's why I had been thinking in merging them for a while now. So I decided I would use an old sketch I have already done in drypoint and use it on this Frankenstein's monster of a piece. First I painted my surface to actually be able to see what I was doing, because it's black. Then I transfered my sketch and started carving... Bot without slicing my finger while I was at it.
The drypoint part would be the heart, so I left a space and had to upsize it a little. After making the heart I had a change of mind and decided that the face would actually look better as a drypoint... So I cut another tiny piece of acetate for that purpose.
Then I washed my surface to remove the paint and took this pic because it looked super cool already.
And heres hot it looks assembled... Im eager to ink and try it, Ill keep you updated.
Thank you for stopping by. The artwork and photos are of my entire ownership.
