Hello OCA Folk.
And here we are. All done with my Superman.

This really was difficult to do because in all my time working on it, I couldn't visualize the background and, therefore, had a hard time rationalizing the lighting on the character. I decided since this is a Superman based, in part, on the DC Injustice games, I'd have him in front of a brightly lit monitor with his symbol glitch distorted.

PROCESS MATERIAL

I particularly love the artwork in the Kingdom Come series and think Alex Ross might be one of the most underrated illustrators of our time.
I learned some very important things in this work, albeit a few, but substantial enough to be of a deal helpful in understanding how I think about how I do my art. For one, I've learned to be patient with the creation process and take creative breaks while working. Another is working on something else to help refresh and shift perspective on given pieces. It's often the case that while creating you don't allow for breaks and change while working but I found that these intermissions were important to me progress and finishing my work.
