What's the Buzz?
I got a bit bored today and decided to make a GIF for the Cyber Buzz show that is hosted by @crimsonclad in the MSP/PAL Discord every Saturday.
So what is this show about?
Well @crimsonclad talks about all of the new and exciting things going on with the Hive Blockchain, answers questions from the audience, gets trolled by the audience chat, and plays some sweet synth music.
It is a good way to kill a few hours on a Saturday and get some things done while listening to the show.
Process for making the GIF
I made this GIF in a couple different steps, but I started with Adobe Photoshop to make the main logo for it.
After I got the look I wanted with the different gradient effects and stuff for the colors, I exported the finished png file and through that into Adobe Premiere Pro.
I used a cool 80s retro style video that I got the license for and downloaded and put that into Premiere. Then I just layered the png on top of it and resized it so that it fit how I wanted.
Now after getting it to look the way I wanted came the hardest part of the whole process, exporting a GIF that would be under 10mb so that it can be uploaded to PeakD. I had to mess with the output size, frame rate and the overall length of the video to get it to fit under 10mb without it looking like crap.
After a few different tries, I came out with a result that I liked and it is sitting at 9mb in size. I don't like the obvious jump that you can see when it restarts the animation, but the video was a 10 second clip that loops after the 10 second mark. I had to cut the video down to about 4 seconds, have a frame rate of 12.5 fps, and reduce the size to 900 pixels wide so that it would be under the 10mb limit for GIFs in PeakD.
Overall, I am happy with the final result and I was able to kill a few hours doing it. Let me know what you think about it and be sure to pop into the MSP/PAL server for the show on Saturday to join in the awesomeness.
