Nearly two months ago, I bought a new phone (impulsively). It's a lavender Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. I initially wasn't hoping to buy it... but who was I kidding. Like what one of my friends keep saying, "If you've been thinking about purchasing something for over a week, just buy it already."
While I already have a tablet I happily use for drawing (sometimes), I thought it would be great if I can use the S23U the way I did with my Note 10+.
however...
I got really busy since buying the phone. From attending a conference, to managing systems migrations, to writing codes... I just couldn't catch a break. The times that I did, I used it to hang out with my close friends, and buy good food.
Over the few months I wasn't active, I actually took the time to enjoy a variety of food. I particularly got hooked on Marugame Udon.
But finally, after a long, long time, I got to grab the pen and start drawing again. I did this earlier today, while playing hooky from work (just for a while, please).
the drawing
It took me just under 2 hours. I really think this could be better -- but part of me said it's actually already good enough.

It's based off this photo, but I took the liberty to just have fun with it and see where it would take me. I particularly had a hard time with it... I'm not sure why. I think it's the skin. Or the lighting. Or the hair.
Maybe all.
Or... I think it's because it's a new phone, and I wasn't able to configure the Medibang brushes I usually use according to how I normally would. The app also saw a huge update since I last drew, and I felt like somewhat blindly painting on it.
I ended up kind of liking it, though. How about you, what do you think?
