I tried a draping sketch today
I don't know when last I did this kind of drawing but I'm pretty sure it's over half a year now.
Initially, I wanted to use a white cloth but I realized there will be no much forms so I opted for a dark cloth.
I place the piece of cloth (using the inside-out) on a wardrobe's handle, took a little distance away from it and started sketching it.
Firstly, I observed my light flow. It was coming from the opposite side of the cloth so I stood on another angle adjacent to it making it form a triangular sign.
From the final result, you could see there was no much light on the right side of it while there was more light on the left.
Reference
This sketch was done with AutoDesk sketchbook application and aided with an S-pen. You can see my steps below:
As usual, I started with a blank sheet and walking my way to the final result. At the final stage, I blurred the background so as not the distract the focal point and the main work.
Step 1: Outline sketch
Step 2: Shading with scribbles
Step 3: More shading with scribbles
Step 4: I addeded blurring & darker tones
Step 5: Background was added
Step 6: Final stage - I blended the background
What do you have to say about this?
I welcome all thoughts and suggestions.
Thank you.
