Almost as soon as the Communities beta went live I created what is now OnChain Art (original name of Steem Artstation was changed for future proofing) for the primary purpose for addressing two issues for the artist on Steem.
Visibility and Rewards
As someone that grew up on the mean streets of the SBC(Steem Blockchain) I know the struggle is real. There is typically a long period of tossing your posts into a surging river of content only for it to get swept away in a torrent of post of every subject matter from literally all around the world.
If you can grind your way through that, and are making content that people want to see, get in discord and meet people, track down people of similar interests and introduce yourself to them, etc you can find your way here, but with new features comes a better way.
By posting in OnChain Art, it will be easier for you to connect with people who want to see your content and whose content you're likely to want to see.
Also by consolidating as much quality content as possible OnChain Art can remain a trending Community past beta and all the contributors will have much more exposure than is currently possible.
That's the Visibility bit.
Improved visibility increases your likelihood of rewards but doesn't guarantee it(technically nothing does, but that's a tangent). What I'm hoping to build here is something we can all grow together and all benefit from. So the first of many steps in that direction is the
@onchainart account.
I'll be doing a few things to help support the community with this account.
It's a curation trail that my main account is following plus several alts including @midlet-creates which is my CCC curation account with over 59k CCC staked as these are overlapping content categories. Follow the trail if you'd like to support the community! If you already do a lot of manual curation you probably don't want to follow this trail as I'll be upvoting EVERYONE who posts into the community with legit posts. I'll be doing this manually, so obviously it's useless to spam or try to abuse it. Also don't bother posting a stick figure if that's all you can do, you're not ready for OnChain Art yet.
I'll be doing a weekly(could change) showcase post showcasing cool posts from the past week with the artists set as the 90% beneficiaries. This will not only allow for the artists to get additional rewards for their posts but will also support the @onchainart account which will in turn support the community. All rewards will be powered up and exclusively used to upvote community contributors. For now the vote weight will be at my discretion, but this is definitely something I'd be okay with offloading to trusted MODs in the future.
I'll be throwing contests from this account. Haven't gotten super far on this yet, but I'll think of something cool, or if you've got ideas I'd love to hear them.
