I like this portrait a lot more than the one I did last week. I think I'm a bit more warmed up. In total this took around 3.5 hours and after I'm done with these demos I think, "How good would I be if I just buckled down and did one of these everyday?" I'm really terrible at doing the same thing for too long though so it's probably not in the cards. I'm interested in too many things and over the years I just went ahead and embraced that and stopped trying to fight it.
I'll probably never be as good as the people that are singularly focused on just one thing and do it and only it, but I think I'll be sane which is nice. Here's the process on this one.
Gotta love digital, where I can fix the proportions as the last step, HA! Also here's a close up with all the rough brush strokey goodness.
There's one more portrait week and that's going to be the end of the semester. I have no idea what sort of art I'll be in the mood for after this semester, but I am feeling the painting bug these days. We'll see what happens. Thanks for checking out my post! There's a bunch of amazing work being posted in OnChainArt so you should definitely check it out and subscribe and curate some peeps. All the cool kids are doing it! See you all in the next post.
