Hello everyone, for tonight's drawing l, I wanted to do a portrait using only two tones. Black and white were the colors of choice. I wanted to draw a Willy Wonka (the strange guy in the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". He's got style and he is a classic.
I like to use only two tones, using the tan of the paper as a third color. It helps getting better at distinguishing all the lights zone and their reflection. Trying to get a few tips and tricks that I am learning from different sources. I have to say that I was able to up a level reading @rucoin post, a self taught artist that is totally professional. His posts are well detailed and following the progress pics really helped.
Another note, in just a few hours it will be PowerUp day 😀! A chance to get together and help others to start up. As mentionned, this drawing was done using only a black and white colored pencil, as for the paper, it has a slight gray tone tan to it.
Here are the progress pics
I hope you guys like it, thanks for the view.
