Hello everyone. So I've not posted for about four days and more and its because I've been busy trying to learn another way of doing what I do - and that other way is what I'm sharing today.
I recently began to take cartooning seriously and I've been impressed by all I've been able to do recently so I decided to take it up a notch using smudge art. I kind of learned a lot of things I could use the smudge brush for and even realised its almost the same thing as a tortillion or blending stomp in traditional drawing. So.. Yeah. I'm thrilled.
App - Autodesk sketchbook pro
I started by filling the face and hand with a brown and tweaking the opacity to add a little bit of colour and depth to the image. I then duplicated the brown patch and edited them into Overlay , colour, multiply presets I had to arrange them in each layer to get the desired result.
I then began to smudge all over the face as I left the eyes out. I smudged every single thing on the face and I was having that creamy texture. All going fine..
Then I smudged the other parts of the image, her hijab, and fingers. It took a bit of time but it was worth it. After that, I decided to add hair to the top of the face on a newer layer then I edited it into the glow preset. It added that kind of a ime look to the painting. I also then changed the first part of the hijab from pink to dark Neon as I was planning to make the eyes neon.
I visited another layer and painted the eyes on it. I used a total of five layers for the eyes and this included no smudging at all. I recreated the eyes to my taste, adding all the glow and shine as I dimmed fit. The pupils in the reference picture was black but I made mine neon. So, I did some kind of Manipulations here
I tweaked with the background, added the eyebrows and lashes and inserted my newly made logo into it.
There, we have a totally new anime kind of image.
What do you think?
