Hey Hive!
We're back again with another Art Attack! If you're new to the series, this is where I share my drawings and the process behind them. A behind-the-scenes look at my artwork, if you will. This is not to say that I'm very good at art, or that I'm a professional in any way. In fact this is the opposite, and serves as a reminder to how I first started, and lets me track my progress too!
We're onto another series of Twitch emotes! I've shared about my streaming journey on Twitch in multiple posts and the art I've done both for my Twitch channel and for my viewers. Earlier this year, Twitch announced that Affiliates (such as myself) would get access to many more emotes slots so I was scrambling to draw new ones to fill them for the first half of last year.
Here's the showcase I've been going through:
We're actually just down to one last emote in this showcase, and I think it's the cutest one - the flower!
I got the idea for this one from a viewer turned streamer friend of mine who had this emote from another channel. I'm not sure whose it was exactly but it was of a character named Nahida from Genshin Impact holding a flower and it looked so cute!

I thought it was so cute and it worked really well with one of Twitch's Easy-Animate features for animated emotes where it slides into the chat box, something like this:
It looks so adorable with the flower emote so I thought I'd do my own version of it! I love the game Plants Vs Zombies and actually also did a playthrough of it on stream back in the day, so I thought to model my flower after one of the Plants from the game!
I actually have never seen these flowers before but apparently they're special event Plants from Plants Vs. Zombies 2. It looks nice I thought the shape would be very recognisable since the emote is only 56px in chat.
So I drew out the flower but gave it a different face and went with a simpler stem. In the end, we get something like this:
I thought it looked good but realised the colour of the flower blends into my own TacoCat as well, so I decided to change it to a contrasting colour which is blue/purple. This other Plant from the game had the perfect shade so I colour sourced from there and we get this:
It looked pretty good like that already, but I decided to give it a bit more flair with some sparkles and a glow on the flower to make it stand out more. I also changed the expression into my anime "wow" face which I think is perfect with the glowey flower.
This is what it looks like in chat, and you can picture it sliding into chat as an animated emote. It's what I use as a greeting in chat now rather than a "hey" emote and I think it works.
But that's going to be it for now! Hope you enjoyed this new showcase and tune in next time for a brand new art piece!
Thanks for reading!
