I am extremely new to blender, but I made a 3D model for the Runescape item Glimmering Scale, which unlocks the Rawrvek pet. I am hoping on adding some 3D animation into my toolkit for future projects, but blender continues to be opaque and intimidating as ever.
To make this gif I drew an SVG image of the scale, then imported it into Blender, extruded, added a light source, then added rotation in keyframes. Every step in the process has room for improvement, but I am pretty satisfied with my first attempt at 3D modeling in Blender. Then I exported the frames as an image sequence, and then used Shotcut to render a gif, since Blender does not have a native gif output. The PNG images in the image sequence have a proper transparent background, but I have not yet figured out how to export a transparent gif in Shotcut. More room for improvement in the future.
