I've been dedicating too much time to antichess and I'm starting to feel it, I think it was in the last tournament where I think I felt the lack of rhythm and playing chess normally.
so today I decided to start training a bit more to get into a rhythm to play decently on friday, I got into one of the daily tournaments that Lichess organizes and in this post I will be passing my games and commenting a bit about them.
if you are wondering where I see these tournaments they are in the Arena section on the lichess platform, they last about 1 hour each and there are several modalities to choose from.
Bullet is one of those modes I like to play, I've always been good with fast times so the first few games were pretty easy, you are almost always placed with someone with a lower rating so you can even risk using berserk.

A bit further into the tournament is that the tough opponents arrive, in this case I had the game almost lost but in these game modes you can always force and discomfort the opponent in the position to at least scratch some points, a very good position that I wasted at the beginning was returned to me after another mistake of my opponent.
black vs Tyco
this was one of the best games I played, even sacrificing a rook seemingly for nothing I think I had a better position from start to finish, lots of tactical issues and potential attacks that I was able to initiate and culminate with a powerful kingside attack, a good game overall that increased my performance in this tournament

Although not everything was going to be as easy as I expected, already in the second half of the tournament I was put to play against some heavyweights and I think this game shows me that I'm still not in that sweet spot I was in a few months ago, I was completely outplayed from start to finish in an opening I had no idea what I was doing.
White vs Kkwambai
After that I wanted to try my luck using berserk to grab some extra points, and yes, it's berserk in bullet so I only had 30 seconds to finish my opponent, I played as aggressive as I could, looking for the opposite castle to have more opportunity to attack, fortunately I could even win without too much trouble.
White vs Zooad
Almost at the end of the tournament I was a little tired and gave up some games, but there were others where I had the position completely lost and somehow managed to hold on to win by time, this is one of those where fortune is on your side as well as the time management you have throughout the game.

My last game was quite intense with a user of my rating, it was a battle from start to finish where I could have some advantage although in these game modes time is always a factor and between all that I think I let my advantage slip away, fortunately I was able to come back and finish this tournament on a high note.
I finished the tournament in 7th position which is pretty good considering I started playing with the tournament already started, on the performance side I know I can improve but I need time to find myself back in classical chess, I have been playing antichess for too long and it is hard to get that chip out of my head.
If you have made it this far I can only thank you and invite you to look me up on lichess to play a game, I am active most evenings so I look forward to your invitation !!!!
