Hi! Just wanna share my experience in the recently college fiesta event in our school, it was composed of different sports events including chess. This is my 2nd time trying to win a medal, first time was when I did try to win for Highschool Department, and recently when I get to college, for the Psychology Program.
2 weeks of preparation, we're unprepared. No coach, no mentor, just us, helping each other. We helped ourselves by sharing our already idea to what was gonna happen in that event and sadly, we never expect that the rules for that event were changed. So much for that, it's not like we're going to win anyways.
THE EVENT
The School's own publication org took a photo of us before the start of the tournament—likely a token for appreciation. Day one starts and we're being bullied by every department and courses. On men's division, we didn't even score a single point due to it being team scoring. I was in the table 1 (not that good tbh) and it was my first time so the pressure is on me. Day 2 and there we only managed to win against the Bachelor of Science in Teacher Education. All departments have 8 players (4 men, 4 women) and we won (3-1) so that's 2 points and yeah, it was an experience and will go back for more next school year. I'm hungry for revenge on anybody.
P.S. btw any tips for chess openings/gambits there guys! HAHAHAHA
