Welcome to my gaming blog, and I love to talk about my game experience and anything game-related. I participated in the last Team Battle, and it was a draw experience for me. It was 3+2 timing, so I decided not to go all out berserk since I knew the time would keep adding whenever my opponent made a move. Instead, I calmly played the time that way, even though it was not easy.
I do not know if there is much fortune or luck in chess it was a good one for the blockchain chess team. We finished in 10th place out of 10 teams; we are also coming from a relegated spot from the previous round. I tried to bring in 28 points in the round before this, but it was not enough to save us from relegation. Now, I am guessing that since we finished in 9th in the round before this, and now we finished 10th in this round, we definitely got relegated again.
I came in at 9th place with only 9 points, of which the majority of those points came from a draw against my opponent. On a close look, that is not entirely correct. I had more losses, fewer wins, and a few draws.
As for the berserk on there, I tried berserking, and it was not a good idea. It felt like my opponent's time wasn't running low at all, only mine.
This is one game I thought was going to draw because I do not know the sequence for playing a rook and bishop against a rook, and in this position, my opponent even has two pawns, making it more difficult. Somehow, things turned around after a few moves.
I would hope to bring my king close to his pawns, but his rook is obstructing me from doing that. Hence, the reason why I brought in my bishop in the next couple of moves was to cover my king.
What is more interesting about this game is the ending. In the end, my opponent's rook was not relevant in the gameplay. I was dominating with my mate threats, and finally, I got the checkmate I was looking for. Even his rook has to run back home to stop the mate, but it is already too late for that. That is how I escaped a draw into a win, but the same can not be said for the remaining games. Although it was not a good performance, I still enjoyed every bit of playing the game, even now that my losing streak keeps increasing. It only shows the game is getting more interesting.
