Dear Chessfriends,
after a little confusion with the summer time of some regions we were able to carry out the first Hive Lichess tournament, with 10 players at start (some could join only later, so that might have biased the results a bit)! Anyway, thanks for participating!

By far the most points @jaki01 could gather. But if @renerondron (with an insane tournament performance of 2368) would have started on time and not 20 min. or so later, he for sure would have come quite close. Third place goes to XM9000 (@maciejficek) with a solid performance despite the strong competition.
And @rodrook, your practice has payed off with a good 4th rank, followed very closely by HerbyW (@schamangerbert).
I was the lucky one today with an opponents average rating of 1959 and the pleasure to play 4 times against @jaki01. At least I could draw once.
The remaining places were taken by doc-holliday (does someone know his Hive or Steem name?), @rafaelaquino, @pereu4ivatel and @hierro21.
Points are given to the Top 8 players in each round: 8 for #1 to 1 for the 8th rank. So the first score table looks like this:
Season 1: 03 April to 05 Jun 2020 / Standings after Round 1
| Hive name | Lichess name | Rating | Rounds played | Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| @jaki01 | @jaki01 | 2289 | 1 | 8 |
| @renerondon | @renerondon | 2214 | 1 | 7 |
| @maciejficek | XM9000 | 1362 | 1 | 6 |
| @rodrook | @rodrook | 1468 | 1 | 5 |
| @schamangerbert | HerbyW | 1713 | 1 | 4 |
| @stayoutoftherz | @stayoutoftherz | 1977 | 1 | 3 |
| @rafaelaquino | ajedrezclub2t | 1673 | 1 | 2 |
| @pereu4ivatel | drak0nb | 1639 | 1 | 1 |
| @hierro21 | hierro21 | 1639 | 1 | 0 |
Doc-holliday is not ranked until I have a Hive name of him.
Payout:
The Season 1 will go for 10 rounds and points are summed up. All Hivechess-related post rewards are pooled and 90% go to the price pool. The winner will get 30% of that price pool, the second 20%, the third 10%, the rest is divided equally among the other players active on Hive or Steem, according to the rounds they have played. So everyone has a chance to get something! Hope to see you again next Friday!
What about the idea to from time to time play a 90min 10+0 tournament, so more time to think (and make blunders as well)?
Other ideas? Would you prefer 5+1?
