Have you heard about the saying "the truth is bitter".
Maybe that's the reason why most people prefer a lie they would quickly believe and be comfortable with rather than the truth.
From an experience I had with a former boss, this changed my perspective on always being truthful.
He was definitely not the first person I worked with, so when I started I moved with my normal truthful way of life but I started noticing how that truthful life bounced back at me in an unpleasant way.
Of course, I sorted advice from a few friends of mine who suggested I changed strategy and that involved telling a lie and giving him the access to believe what he wanted to believe.
I wouldn't adjust to the new lifestyle quickly, but when I did it went smooth.
Seriously, I was surprised and disappointed at the same time.
Like, this is the same person I have been truthful with but whenever I say the truth he will doubt it and say I was lying.
But once I uttered a lie he nodded and accepted it without any questioning.
It was after some period with the new lifestyle, that I noticed that he already believed in those lies from the onset, so the truth was a lie to him.
He was already comfortable with the lies that the truth was strongly bitter for him.
Even, as I went with the flow because it was much better.
I was suffocating inside.
Yes, you would wonder why.
Because that's not just me, in as much as the lies gave me the opportunity to have some breathing space working with him, I wasn't comfortable, I was just an entirely different person.
I have seen most cases where two close people comfortably lie to each other.
I asked and I was told that most people hold on the truth and use it against you someday.
So, the lies doesn't hold ground, it doesn't hurt, you don't feel somehow when you are caught?
Anyways,my perspective on this most people love a lie than the truth.
When it comes to people showing their sincerity, they view who they want to share it with.
And give them what they want.
