In today's liberty movement there is a disturbing trend of appealing to the authority of those currently controlling language and/or the narrative (The Deep-State, Cathedral, Hegemony, Cabal, call it what you will.). This appeal is a knee bend that avoids the natural conflict of liberty vs authoritarianism. It is an approach that, whether intentional or not, grants permission to the oppressors in an attempt to gain acceptance into the "main stream" conversation. The problem lies in the fact that this kowtow prevents one from being able to have any actual conversation. It gives the opposition a sense of dominance and confidence that allows them to shout down any true exchange of ideas. It concedes to them the authority of truth. If the truth is conceded to come from one "authority" then how can we ever expect to open the minds of the oppressed?
- For an example of the strength and resolve required, we need look no further than the way Dr. Ron Paul handled himself during his presidential campaign in 1988 regarding to the horribly failed War on Drugs during the height of "Just Say No" mania and wildly popular Reagan-era enforcements.*
Yes, the video was edited to make light of Dr. Paul's dig on the young man confronting him and hopefully you got a nice little laugh. However, the added humor of the video does not change the level of unapologetic confidence and bravery it took for Dr. Paul to hold the position of uncomfortable truth that day, during that era, nearly 33 years ago.
It is with this same unapologetic, perhaps even radical, confidence and bravery that we must attack the issues of today, such as Cultural Marxism, the War on "Terror" (and the forever Regime-Change Wars that coincide), the Drug War (still), taxation, monetary policy, censorship and so much more. The battle for liberty in our lifetime is only becoming more difficult as the central planners grow their ever expanding warfare state. Now is no time for timid tip-toeing, nor appeasement of those at the table of power. It is time to uproot the conversation, reclaim the truth no matter how uncomfortable, flip the table (metaphorically, of course), and be unapologetic, brave and radically anti-state.
