Konnichiwa Minna San, it feels good to be back at the anime realm community once again. This places always feels like home because it is the one place I get to express my love for anime with like-minded individuals and also interact with them as well. Today I'll be focusing on the son of the seventh hokage Boruto Uzumaki, a young boy with a dream to surpass his own father by becoming everything he isn't
News about the release of a new anime spin-off series after the end of Shippuden felt like Christmas came early to a lot Naruto fans. Apparently it will focus on life after the 4th great ninja war, a new set of young aspiring ninjas (predominantly the children of the previous generation) at a time of peace with Naruto's 12 year old son - Boruto Uzumaki as its new protagonist. As the son of my childhood hero, I immediately assumed he would be a replicate of his father , I thought wrong. Boruto as a kid starts off as a very annoying character and being the son of the Hokage attention is always on him. Boruto hates his father because he is barely at home choosing to work extra hours to ensure the entire village is safe creating little to no time for his family.
The resentment for his dad is understandable but whenever I remember what Naruto had to grow as a kid, no family to call his own and how the entire village hated him, I just can't help but dislike Boruto for not seeing the things his father sacrifices just say he can enjoy these privileges but in the end he is still just a kid. Boruto idolizes Sasuke Uchiha tagging his job as cool and wishes to be like him which is ironic considering the fact that Sasuke is barely ever available in the village entirely and only pops in when he has useful information to for the leaders of the village.
Boruto is a very skillful and talented young Shinobi possessing the wind style chakra nature just like his father. He also has a lightening style nature which he asks Sasuke to train him under going as far as asking to become his student. Unlike his father Boruto is intellectually proficient being one of the top students in ninja academy. He goes as far as taking the Chunin exam early which he cheats his way into the final until he is caught by his disappointed dad.
During this period Naruto is kidnapped by two members of the otsutski clan hoping to create a new ten tails which would mark the end of Naruto's life. With help from the other four Kages and Boruto, they are able to put stop momoshiki otsutski's plan.
Boruto acquired a spot on his palm called karma after delivering the winning Rasengan punch and this very seal becomes the beginning of his problem. It turns out the karma mark is a tool used the otsutski to take control of people's body with or without their consent. Now Boruto has to learn how to control consciousness within so he doesn't become a vessel for destruction.
After the battle with momoshiki, Boruto begins to understand his father gradually. His development skyrockets when he encounters kawaki, a boy who is a rest subject for a mysterious evil group out to cause harm to the peace of the entire Ninja world.
Naruto ends up adopting kawaki to protect him from the dangerous life he lived having personally understood what it felt like to be alone. Boruto bonds with Kawasaki and the two friends along with help from the adults work hard to stop the threats lurking in the dark.
The story of Boruto starts off with the protagonist being an arrogant and unlikeable character that slowly continues to grow, maturing into a protagonist the audience can truly get behind. I still don't like his story the way I do his father but one thing I know for sure is I do understand him better now and I hope there are more opportunities for him to evolve continuously
Thank you.
