Greetings friends. If you have seen my blog, I am putting together a collection of Pokémon figurines, I have already shared some figurines in the community, being the last one I made for the collection a Gastly one.

Although I am going to make soon the evolutions of Gastly, Haunter, I wanted to make a different Pokémon between each evolution, so now I will show you a Pokémon that was one of the most known and popular of the first generation, which was actually like a duo of Pokémon, I mean Hitmonlee.

Although later I will make Hitmonchan, for now I invite you to follow me in this brief creative process of this great Hitmonlee.

Saludos amigos. Si han visto mi blog, estoy armando una colección de figuritas de Pokémon, ya he compartido algunas figuritas en la comunidad, siendo la última que hice para la colección una de Gastly.

Aunque voy a hacer pronto las evoliciones de Gastly, Haunter, quería hacer un Pokémon diferente entre cada evolución, así que ahora les mostraré un Pokémon que era uno de los más conocidos y populares de primera generación, que era en realidad como un duo de Pokémon, me refiero a Hitmonlee.

Aunque más adelante haré a Hitmonchan, por ahora los invito a seguirme en este breve proceso creativo de este genial Hitmonlee.

Step by step

The materials I used for this creation were plasticine and wire. I didn't use paint because the colors are very easy to achieve with colored clay.

To make this Pokémon you have to start with a key step, making the body in the shape of a water drop. As you can see Hitmonlee has an elongated body, even similar to a sunflower seed.

I find the easiest way to do it is to make, as I said, a slightly elongated water droplet, it is also useful to be guided by the shape of a sunflower seed, with the pointed part down. To give you an idea of the base shape I used, you can see the image below.

Paso a paso

Los materiales que utilicé para esta creación fueron plastilina y alambre. No usé pintura porque los colores son muy fáciles de lograr con plastilina de colores.

Para hacer a este Pokémon hay que comenzar con un paso que es clave, hacer el cuerpo con forma de gota de agua. Como pueden ver Hitmonlee tiene el cuerpo alargado, incluso similar al de una semilla de girasol.

Yo la manera más fácil de hacerlo que encuentro es la de hacer, como dije, una gota de agua un poco alargada, también sirve guiarse con la forma de una semilla de girasol, con la parte puntiaguda hacia abajo. Para que tengan una idea de la forma base que usé, pueden ver la imagen de abajo.

Although I said to start with a water drop shape, the next thing to do is to make what would be the joints between the legs and the waist.

To achieve this shape you have to join a little bit of plasticine on the lower part, a small piece of plasticine on each side where the leg would go. If you look closely you have to achieve a shape similar to that of a fish, only with the rear fins with a small size and a rounded shape and not pointed.

Aunque dije que se comenzaba con una forma de gota de agua, lo siguiente es hacer lo que vendrían a ser las uniones entre las piernas y la cintura.

Para lograr esta forma hay que unir un poco de plastilina en la parte inferior, un pedacito pequeño de plastilina en cada lado donde iría la pierna. Si se fijan hay que lograr una forma parecida a la de un pez, solo que con las aletas traseras con un tamaño pequeño y de forma redondeada y no puntiaguda.

Once the basic shape of the body was ready, I continued with the hands and what would be the shoulders. These are both small pieces, which I also made with plasticine and without any kind of wire support, because later I would add wire to join them to the torso of the Pokémon.

Una vez lista la forma básica del cuerpo, continué con las manos y lo que serían los hombros. Son ambas piezas pequeñas, que hice también con plastilina y sin ningún tipo de soporte de alambre, pues más adelante le agregaría alambre para unirlas al torso del Pokémon.

For the legs it is a completely different base, because to make the legs you have to mold them directly on an L-shaped wire, being the horizontal stripe below much shorter than the vertical stripe, which is a piece of wire that will serve as a complete support for the whole leg.

In the picture below you can see the foot already molded on the shorter piece of wire, the horizontal one, while the vertical one will serve for the rest.

Para las piernas es un baso completamente distinto, pues para hacer las patas hay que moldearlas directamente en un alambre con forma de L, siendo la raya horizontal de abajo mucho más corta que la raya vertical, que es un trozo de alambre que servirá de soporte completo para toda la pierna.

En la imagen de abajo pueden ver el pie ya moldeado en el trozo de alambre más corto, el horizontal, mientras que el vertical servirá para lo demás.

If you remember what the character looks like, his legs are made with a bunch of pieces with rounded shapes that remind me a lot of a spring.

To make them I simply cut two elongated pieces of beige plasticine, these two pieces I cut into seven even smaller pieces, which I separated and molded into this rounded shape that the character's legs have.

As you can see in the image on the right, I made a small hole in the center of each of these pieces to fit it into the wire I showed you above.

Si recuerdan cómo es el personaje, este tiene las piernas hechas con un montón de piezas con formas redondeadas que hacen recordar mucho a un resorte.

Para hacerlas simplemente corté dos trocitos alargados de plastilina color beige, estos dos trocitos los corté en siete piezas aún más pequeñas, las cuales separé y moldeé en esta forma redondeada que tienen las piernas del personaje.

Como pueden ver en la imagen de la derecha, cada una de estas piezas les hice un agujerito en medio para calzarlo en el alambre que les mostré más arriba.

The next thing to do is to join all the pieces, both the legs and the hands, which I showed you before.

Both arms and legs are joined with wire, along with all the little rounded feet that the Pokémon has both arms and legs.

Ya lo siguiente es unir todas las piezas, tanto de las piernas y las manos, las cuales les mostré anteriormente.

Tanto los brazos como las piernas se unen con alambre, junto con todas las piecitas redondeadas que tiene el Pokémon tanto los brazos como en las piernas.

The last thing I did was the eyes, which also have a shape similar to that of a drop, with some black shadows on the lower part of the eyes.

Ya lo último que hice fueron los ojos, los cuales tienen una forma similar también a la de una gota, con ciertas sombras negras en la parte de abajo de los ojos.

This way the figurine was finished. Below you can see a series of photographs of the final result:

Well folks, that's all for now. As you can see, this second miniature shelf is growing in terms of figurines. Soon I will add Haunter and a couple of other Pokémon.
