Yes, we are a little more than 3 months away from 2025 but I came across this a few days ago and wanted to share it here with all of you to see if you agree with the result of this poll. We all know that Crunchyroll is the number 1 platform in the world to enjoy anime so they are always doing these dynamics for people to vote and express their opinion about different topics. In fact The Crunchyroll Anime Awards are coming soon but we will talk about that another time. Today I want to ask if the chosen one among the four options I'm going to present you was the right winner. It should be noted that these four are the result of the winners of 4 polls (Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall).

Si, ya llevamos poco más de 3 meses del 2025 pero me topé con esto hace unos día y quise compartirlo por acá con todos ustedes haber si están de acuerdo con el resultado de esta encuesta. Todos sabemos que Crunchyroll es la plataforma número 1 en el mundo para disfrutar anime por lo que ellos siempre están haciendo estas dinámicas para que la gente vote y exprese su opinión acerca de diferentes tópicos. De hecho The Crunchyroll Anime Awards son dentro de poco pero de eso hablaremos en otra oportunidad. Hoy quiero preguntar si el elegido dentro de las cuatro opciones que les voy a presentar fue el justo ganador. Cabe destacar que estos cuatro son el resultado de los ganadores de 4 encuestas (Invierno, primavera, verano y otoño).

- Kaiju No. 8 - "Abyss" de Yungblud

Yungblud is a British musician whose influence is alternative rock but sometimes he can stroll through rap always with a very nineties style. Listening to a song in the opening of an anime as important and good as Kaiju No 8 was a surprise for everyone basically because if you listen to this theme you will realize that it is not usual in this world of anime, it is very complicated and difficult to see a rock song as an intro. Personally I like it a lot, the first seconds are the soft preamble of a base that is extremely catchy. In the end everything happens to be a matter of taste but at the level of song this one is incredible, the thing is that last year there were other openings that I don't know if they are better at a technical level but they were definitely infinitely more viral and recognized.

Yungblud es un músico británico cuya influencia es el rock alternativo pero a veces se puede pasear por el rap siempre con un estilo muy noventero. Escuchar una canción en el opening de un anime tan importante y bueno como lo es Kaiju No 8 fue una sorpresa para todos básicamente porque si escuchan este tema se darán cuenta que no es nada habitual en este mundo del anime, es muy complicado y difícil de ver un rock así como intro. En lo personal me gusta mucho, los primeros segundos son el preámbulo suave de una base que es sumamente pegajosa. Al final todo pasa por ser un tema de gustos pero a nivel de cancion esta es increible el tema es que el año pasado hubo otros opening que no se yo si son mejores a nivel técnico pero definitivamente fueron infinitamente más virales y reconocidos.

- MASHLE: MAGIC AND MUSCLES - "Bling-Bang-Bang-Born" de Creepy Nuts

This topic was the other winner of its respective poll and rightly so. I think it goes without saying the magnitude of what this theme meant, especially at the beginning of 2024 when it flooded the social networks in its entirety. The Creepy Muts thing was and is a real madness managing to mount two deeply successful openings in the anime mainstream. I haven't particularly seen Mashle but I think if I do it's because of this OP. This Japanese duo achieved what very few have taken years to achieve, become really influential in such a particular universe as anime and with two songs. “Bling-Bang-Bang-Bang-Born” is addictive, its chorus, its verses, the base with the trumpets in the background; everything comes together to form a true phenomenon. But will it be the winner?.

Este tema fue el otro ganador de su respectiva encuesta y con toda la razón. Creo que no hay que decir la magnitud de lo que significó este tema sobretodo a inicios del 2024 cuando inundó las redes sociales en su totalidad. Lo de Creepy Muts fue y es una auténtica locura logrando montar dos opening profundamente exitosos en el mainstream del anime. Particularmente no he visto Mashle pero creo que si lo hago es por este OP. Este dúo japonés logró lo que muy pocos han tardado años en conseguir, volverse realmente influyentes en un universo tan particular como lo es del anime y con dos canciones. "Bling-Bang-Bang-Born" es adictiva, su coro, sus estrofas, la base con las trompetas de fondo; todo se une para formar un verdadero fenómeno. Pero, habrá sido la ganadora?...

- DAN DA DAN - "Otonoke" de Creepy Nuts

I think what played against the previous one is that it “burned out” so fast, it was so widely played that people decided to start voting for Otonoke. This one won the fall poll and Dan Da Dan was a total success. I have to say that I started watching it two days ago and I am amazed with this anime, I will review it later. But being critical and honest, this song is better than Mashle's? - For me they are very similar, at least as far as the base is concerned, it is true that the previous one has the hook of the dance and that may have helped to position itself better but by very little I'll take this one by Dan Da Dan, I feel that Otonoke is more enjoyable as a song, it has changes of rhythm and it may be a little more melodic and delicate.

Creo que lo que le jugó mal a la anterior es que se "quemó" muy rapido, sonó tanto en todos lados que las personas decidieron comenzar a votar por Otonoke. Esta ganó la encuesta de otoño y es que Dan Da Dan fue un éxito total. Tengo que decir que la comencé a ver hace dos días y estoy maravillado con este anime, ya haré la reseña correspondiente. Pero siendo críticos y sinceros, esta cancion es mejor que la de Mashle? - para mi son muy parecidas, por lo menos en lo que a base se refiere, si que es verdad que la anterior tiene el gancho del baile y eso capaz ayudó a posicionarse mejor pero por muy poco me quedo con esta de Dan Da Dan, siento que Otonoke es más disfrutable como canción, tiene cambios de ritmo y puede que sea un poco más melódica y delicada.

- My Hero Academia - "Curtain Call" de Yuuri

The winner of the summer was this, Yuuri's song. Typical shonen opening, both in sound and video. Personally I'm not a big fan of this kind of intros considering that it sounds like the most common thing that can be found in anime. Indeed, and especially in music, tastes can be very diverse and I think this one stands out for the familiarity it generates when listening to it. The video helps because it tells the story of the anime, shows its characters and how they have evolved over time and this generates more empathy with the viewer. But then, what was the winning opening? - Yes friends, this one from **My Hero Academia** with 35%, beating Dan Da Dan with only 1%. So this, for the voters within Crunchyroll, was the best intro of last year. Being completely honest, my winner was Otonoke. For you, what was it? - Any other than these 4?...

La ganadora del verano fue esta, la canción de Yuuri. Típico opening de un shonen, tanto en sonido como en el video. Personalmente no soy muy fanático de este tipo de intros teniendo en cuenta que suena a lo más común que puede haber dentro del anime. Efectivamente y sobretodo en la musica los gustos pueden ser muy variopintos y creo que esta sobresale por la familiaridad que genera al escucharla. El video ayuda porque narra la historia del anime, muestra a sus personajes y cómo han evolucionado con el tiempo y esto genera más empatía con el espectador. Pero entonces, cuál fue el opening ganador? - pues si amigos, este de My Hero Academia con 35%, superando al de Dan Da Dan con apenas 1%. Así que este, para los votantes dentro de Crunchyroll, fue el mejor intro del año pasado. Siendo completamente sinceros, mi ganador era Otonoke. Para ustedes, cual fue? - algún otro que no sean estos 4?...
