Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well today, dear community of The Anime Realm, this time I am going to share with you my review of the anime Solo Leveling. To tell you the truth, when I saw that this anime was going to be released, I had my doubts... one hears so many things before the premieres that it's hard not to have mixed expectations, I saw what the premise was and honestly it didn't call my attention. I felt it was going to be more of the same and I was not at all familiar with the source material, but seeing the expectations that others had and analyzing some trailers, I decided to give it a chance... and I was surprised in a good way. Talking about the visuals, which for me is what stands out the most in this series, I found it a feast for the eyes. They really did a great job with the animation... every scene, every movement, every battle is developed with great detail... The colors are vibrant and I found them to be quite close to the original manhwa... something that is not easy to achieve.
The action sequences are fluid and extremely exciting, they kept me glued to the screen at all times and the backgrounds.. are simply spectacular. You can tell they put a lot of love and effort into each frame... The story, well, although it doesn't reinvent nor is it something completely original, I feel that in a way it is well executed, the story introduces us to Jin-Woo, a hunter of rank E, the lowest, in a world where there are portals to dungeons full of monsters. Jin-Woo is very weak, but he has a lot of determination and motivation to keep going, despite the dangers of being a hunter, it's interesting to see his progress and how he overcomes obstacles little by little.
I think this is one of the main reasons why it has attracted so many viewers, the leveling system that the protagonist gets is interesting and adds an element of role-playing that makes you want to keep watching this evolve. Also, the way this system is integrated into the world was interesting to me, this certainly is what for me holds all the viewers back, being like a role playing game, I feel like every time the protagonist levels up, it gives you that certain satisfaction that you would get from leveling up your own character.
Hola a todos, espero que se encuentren muy bien en el día de hoy, querida comunidad de The Anime Realm, en esta ocasión les voy a compartir mi reseña sobre el anime Solo Leveling. La verdad, cuando vi que este anime se iba a estrenar, tenía mis dudas.. uno escucha tantas cosas antes de los estrenos que es difícil no tener expectativas mixtas, yo veía cual era la premisa y sinceramente no me llamaba la atención. Sentía que iba a ser más de lo mismo y no estaba para nada familiarizado con el material de origen, pero viendo las expectativas que tenían los demás y analizando algunos trailers, decidí darle una oportunidad.. y me sorprendió de buena manera. Hablando del apartado visual, que para mí es lo que más destaca en esta serie, me pareció un festín para los ojos. En verdad se lucieron con la animación.. cada escena, cada movimiento, cada batalla está desarrollada con mucho detalle.. Los colores son vibrantes y me parecieron bastante bien a la manhwa original.. algo que no es fácil de lograr.
Las secuencias de acción son fluidas y sumamente emocionantes, me mantuvieron pegado a la pantalla en todo momento y los fondos.. son simplemente espectaculares. Se nota que han puesto mucho amor y esfuerzo en cada frame.. La historia, bueno, aunque no reinventa ni es algo completamente original, siento que de cierta manera está bien ejecutada, la historia nos presenta a Jin-Woo, un cazador de rango E, el más bajo, en un mundo donde existen portales a mazmorras llenas de monstruos. Jin-Woo es muy débil, pero tiene mucha determinación y motivación para seguir adelante, a pesar de los peligros que conlleva ser un cazador, es interesante ver su progreso y cómo va superando obstáculos poco a poco..
Creo que esta es una de las principales razones por la que ha atraído a tantos espectadores, el sistema de nivelación que obtiene el protagonista es interesante y añade un elemento de juego de rol que hace que quieras seguir viendo cómo esto evoluciona. Además, la forma en la que se integra este sistema en el mundo me pareció interesante, esto sin duda es lo que para mí retiene a todos los espectadores, ya que al ser como un juego de rol, siento que cada vez que el protagonista sube de nivel, te da esa cierta satisfacción que obtendrías al subir de nivel a tu propio personaje.
The secondary characters, although they could be more developed, fulfill their role and provide some variety or support in the story, I especially like how the different reactions to the protagonist are shown as his strength grows. The pace of the series seemed good to me... each episode leaves you wanting more, and the way in which some mysteries of this world and the power of the protagonist are revealed keeps a lot of interest, although there are moments of classic explanations a little complex, I feel that they are well integrated into the plot and do not feel heavy. The soundtrack also seems excellent to me... the themes are catchy and fit perfectly to each scene, whether it's action, tension or emotional moments, the opening seemed to me a great theme, which is very consistent with the emotion in terms of the story, it goes together perfectly.
Now, I feel that there were also some flaws that did not convince me at all, sometimes I felt that the anime fell into classic clichés of the Isekai or fantasy genre, although it handles them a little better than some other narratives, if I was told with some grimace. There are also moments where the pace drops a bit, especially in the transition episodes between, let's say, important chapters... it feels a bit out of place, although clearly it's normal to feel this because after showing a lot of unbridled action, obviously, when you stop the car, you feel that change of pace. Another thing that caught my attention is how you handle the certain controversy there was with the names, I'm glad you always respected the original ones... It's refreshing to see a much different story than the classic Japanese works.
Los personajes secundarios, aunque podrían estar más desarrollados, cumplen con su función y aportan cierta variedad o apoyo en la historia, me gusta especialmente cómo se muestran las diferentes reacciones hacia el protagonista mientras va creciendo su fuerza. El ritmo de la serie me pareció bueno.. cada episodio te deja con ganas de más, y la forma en la que se van revelando algunos misterios de este mundo y el poder del protagonista mantiene mucho el interés, aunque hay momentos de clásicas explicaciones un poco complejas, siento que están bien integradas en la trama y no se sienten pesadas. La banda sonora también me parece excelente.. los temas son pegadizos y se ajustan perfectamente a cada escena, ya sea de acción, tensión o momentos emotivos, el opening me pareció un temazo, que está muy acorde con la emoción en cuanto a la historia, va junta perfectamente.
Ahora, siento que también hubo algunos fallos que no me convencieron del todo, a veces sentí que el anime cayó en clásicos clichés del género Isekai o de fantasía, aunque los maneja un poco mejor que algunas otras narrativas, si me dijeron con alguna mueca. También hay momentos en las que el ritmo decae un poco, especialmente en los episodios de transición entre, por decirte, capítulos importantes.. se siente un poco fuera de lugar, aunque claramente es normal sentir esto porque luego de mostrar mucha acción desenfrenada, obviamente, al parar el carro, sientes ese cambio de ritmo. Otra cosa que me llamó la atención es cómo se maneja la cierta controversia que hubo con los nombres, me alegra que siempre respetaran los originales.. Es refrescante ver una historia mucho más diferente a las clásicas obras japonesas.
Another thing I felt is that they didn't give enough importance or relevance to the female characters... they present us with some that could be strong, but they never end up embedding themselves in the story. And the female characters that we see in the main story, like the main character's sister or her childhood friend, fall into stereotypes that I didn't like at all... I hope this will improve considerably in the second season, since we are given small hints that there are quite powerful female characters... but well, I would have liked to see them in this season, it's a shame. Well, as I was saying, the main focus of this series is on Jin-Woo and his evolution... I think this is what is best achieved.
One of the things I liked the most is how expectations are managed, there are moments where you think you know what is going to happen and you end up surprised... this keeps the story a bit fresh in those specific episodes and they can get you excited. The world we are presented with gives for a lot of story, as I say, I have not seen the manhwa, but the little I have seen and the idea of the dungeons I think they give rise to a series of events or implications for society that are well thought out... a way to combine the fantastic with the “realistic”, so to speak, in a unique way and I hope it ends up exploring much better... it certainly leaves you wanting to know more.
I think it's an anime that manages to exceed many expectations, it takes familiar elements of the genre and executes them very masterfully.. it gives you an impressive visual experience and a story that may not be the most original of them all, but it sure manages to grab many. Obviously, it has flaws, but I think the good things win out over these flaws.
Otra cosa que sentí es que no le dieron la suficiente importancia o relevancia a los personajes femeninos.. nos presentan algunos que podrían ser fuertes, pero nunca se terminan de incrustar en la historia. Y los personajes femeninos que vemos dentro de la historia principal, como la hermana del protagonista o su amiga de la infancia, caen en estereotipos que no me terminaron de agradar del todo.. espero que esto mejore considerablemente en la segunda temporada, ya que se nos dan pequeñas pistas de que hay personajes femeninos bastante poderosos.. pero bueno, me fuera gustado verlas en esta temporada, es una lástima. Bueno, como les decía, el foco principal de esta serie está enfocado en Jin-Woo y su evolución.. creo que esto es lo que está mejor logrado.
Una de las cosas que más me gustaron es cómo se manejan las expectativas, hay momentos en los que crees que sabes lo que va a pasar y terminas sorprendido.. esto mantiene la historia un poco fresca en esos episodios específicos y pueden emocionarte. El mundo que nos presentan da para mucha historia, como les digo, no he visto el manhwa, pero lo poco que he visto y la idea de las mazmorras opino que dan pie a una serie de acontecimientos o implicaciones para la sociedad que están bien pensadas.. una manera de combinar lo fantástico con lo "realista", por así decirlo, de una manera única y que espero se termine de explorar mucho mejor.. sin duda te deja con ganas de saber más.
Creo que es un anime que logra superar muchas expectativas, toma elementos familiares del género y los ejecuta con mucha maestría.. te ofrece una experiencia visual impresionante y una historia que tal vez no sea la más original de todas, pero que seguro logra atrapar a muchos. Obviamente, tiene fallos, pero creo que las cosas buenas le ganan a estos fallos.
If I had to give this series a rating, I would give it an 8.5 out of 10... it is an anime that I would definitely recommend to fans of the fantasy and action genre who are looking for something exciting.... It surely manages to hook many viewers, I think the first episode is the best of all and keeps you wanting to know more and more until the end. I feel that this series can shine a light of its own in the saturated world of isekai or fantasy stories. It has that unique touch that, if done right, can go a long way, if you haven't seen it yet, do so... you're in for a story of self-improvement, incredible action and a fascinating world that you won't want to leave. And if you've already seen it, let me know what you thought, are you hooked or not convinced? Si tuviera que darle una calificación a esta serie, le daría un 8.5 de 10.. es un anime que sin duda recomendaría a los fanáticos del género de fantasía y acción que buscan algo emocionante.. Seguramente logra enganchar a muchos espectadores, creo que el primer episodio es el mejor de todos y te mantiene queriendo saber más y más hasta el final. Siento que esta serie puede brillar con una luz propia en el saturado mundo de historias isekai o de fantasía. Tiene ese toque único que, si se hace bien, puede llegar muy lejos, si aún no lo han visto, háganlo.. se van a encontrar con una historia de superación personal, una acción increíble y un mundo fascinante que no van a querer dejar. Y si ya lo vieron, cuéntenme qué les pareció. ¿Están enganchados o no les ha terminado de convencer? Sea como sea, creo que todos podemos estar de acuerdo que, si así van a seguir siendo las adaptaciones de manhwas, espero que sigan habiendo más y más.. y bueno, eso sería todo.. les dejo el opening por aquí abajo.
