Hello, my fellow anime lovers. Naruto is my favorite anime. Without a doubt, it is one of the best anime in the anime verse. Many of us here grew up watching Naruto and I'm pretty sure it had lasting impacts on us. It reminds me of a video of Ishowspeed I saw on the internet where he mentioned that Naruto and Luffy from One Piece, helped him at the very bottom part of his life. We all have different favorite characters in Naruto. For example, my top three favorite characters are Itachi, Kakashi, and Madara. I was surprised when a friend told me their favorite characters were nothing close to my list. I was even more surprised and angry when they said their favorite character was Rock Lee. With time, I realized that it is just fair to have different favorite characters, but what I find more surprising is when people fail to understand certain characters and start hating on them for feeble reasons.
This brings me to what brings me here today: Haruno Sakura. I have seen many Naruto reels on Instagram and it is quite painful to see them describe or tag Sakura as “Trash.” Fir example, they could show a video of team 7. They could show Kakashi Senpai in his coolest form, holding a book, then show Sasuke’s Chidori and show Naruto’s Rasengan, only for them to show Sakura as trash. Whenever I come across this video, the one question I ask myself is: Did these guys watch Naruto from the first episode till the end or did they watch it through reels? I have seen Naruto and Naruto Shippuden 3 times and I still don’t see why people would call Sakura trash. I understand her. She is a good example of character development.
One reason why people claim to hate Sakura is that she was mean to Naruto. Really, guys? Was she the only character who was mean to him? Except for Choji and Shikamaru, almost all other characters were mean to poor Naruto. His classmates belittled and looked down on him, and Sakura was no different. She was young and naive. Let’s not even bring Sasuke into this discussion, the brat did worse. I agree that Naruto sacrificed himself for her many times, but let’s not deny the fact that Naruto was a bit creepy, he deserved some of those knocks and punches.
I agree that young Sakura was mean to Naruto, but what intrigues me more is when people say she is useless. Sakura is the strongest female character in the whole of Naruto. She was trained by Tsunade, the 5th Hokage and a legendary sannin. Not only did she become really strong, but she also mastered complex medical ninjutsu that very few people can perform. Let’s not forget that she also summons Katsuya and saves so many people during the Fourth Great Ninja War, yes, including Naruto!
People hate on Sakura because she is “useless.” However, this same character had more impact than Hinata. Through Naruto and Naruto Shipuden, the most significant part Hinata played was during the pain arc when she sacrificed herself to save Naruto. Even then, all he took was a flinch for pain to fling her away. People should really know the meaning of character development and appreciate Sakura more.
