I have to confess that this anime grabbed me from the very first moment. And since then, I waited every Sunday for the next episode.
Tengo que confesar que este anime me atrapó desde el primer momento. Y desde entonces, esperaba cada domingo por el siguiente capítulo.
A couple of days ago, the last episode of the first season was released and I watched it. So, in this post I intend to give a more detailed and accurate opinion about the all-devouring whale: homecoming.
Hace un par de días, se estrenó y vi el último episodio de la primera temporada. Por lo cual, en este post pretendo dar una opinión más detallada y certera sobre the all-devouring whale: homecoming.
The first thing I would like to mention is that I am surprised that this series is going so unnoticed. When I finished it, I looked for any review or critique about the ending and I was very surprised to find NOT ONE. Something that makes me think that I'm overrating this anime or it wasn't given enough publicity. Personally, I'm leaning towards the second option.
Lo primero que quisiera mencionar es que me sorprende el hecho que esté pasando tan desapercibida esta serie. Cuando la terminé, me dispuse a buscar alguna reseña o crítica sobre el final y me llamó mucho la atención no encontrar NI UNA. Cosa que me hace pensar que yo estoy sobrevalorando este anime o no le dieron la suficiente publicidad. En lo personal, me inclino por la segunda opción.
I want to be blunt, I didn't like the oversexualization at all. If I want to see big boobs, sexy women and suggestive scenes, I'm going to watch hentai directly. I say this because I didn't like the design of some characters like Yue Tong who has giant boobs and excessively thick lips or like Bai Liansu who always appears with a super-pronounced cleavage. Add to that the regular sexual innuendoes. If your work is good and warm, there is no need to resort to stimulating the hormones of teenagers to consume you.
Quiero ser directo, no me gustó para nada la sobresexualizacion. Si quiero ver tetas grandes, mujeres sensuales y escenas sugerentes, voy a ver hentai directamente. Digo esto porque no me gustó el diseño de algunos personajes como Yue Tong que tiene unas tetas gigantes y unos labios excesivamente gruesos o como Bai Liansu que siempre aparece con un escote superpronunciado. Sumado a las regulares insinuaciones sexuales. Si tu obra es buena y de cálidas, no es necesario recurrir a estimular las hormonas de los adolescentes para que te consuman.
On the other hand, the humor was very appropriate. I laughed more than once and I consider that they handled this aspect very well. My only complaint is that there were situations that were not meant for jokes. There were serious and tense moments that were destroyed by an inappropriate joke. Other than that, the humor was pretty good.
Por otra parte, el humor fue muy adecuado. Me he reído más de una vez y considero que manejaron muy bien este aspecto. Mi única queja es que hay situaciones que no son para hacer chistes. Hubo momentos serios y tensos que fueron destruidos por una broma inadecuada. Quitando eso, el humor estuvo bastante bien.
The animation in general was good, standing out at the beginning and at the end. It is clear that most of the budget was spent there. At the beginning to catch as many people as possible and at the end to close in the best way.
La animación en general estuvo bien, destacando al principio y al final. Se nota que ahí se fue la mayor parte del presupuesto. Al inicio para atrapar a la mayor cantidad de gente y al final para cerrar de la mejor manera.
The battles were very fluid and dynamic. They gave you a lot of pleasure to watch. I'm glad they put a lot of effort into the most important things.
Las batallas fueron muy fluidas y dinámicas. Te daban mucho placer al verlas. Conforme de que se hayan esforzado en lo más importante.
What I found a little lacking was character development. I feel like they told very little about the main characters. Almost nothing is known about the characters' past, there were only a few flashbacks and nothing else. I guess it's normal considering that only 12 chapters passed. Maybe later on they will tell us a little more about each one's past.
Lo que me hizo un poco en falta fue el desarrollo de personaje. Siento que contaron muy poco de los protagonistas. Casi no se sabe nada del pasado de los personajes, solo hubo algunos pocos flashbacks y nada más. Supongo que es normal teniendo en cuenta que solo pasaron 12 capítulos. Tal vez más adelante nos cuenten un poco más del pasado de cada uno.
The only ones who had a good development was Fan Lingxiao/Liu Fengmang, who is the main character, and Duan, who had a super emotional and beautiful chapter. I think he's my favorite character so far.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed the all-devouring whale: homecoming and I will be looking forward to the next season (which I hope will come out).

I'm a little sad that the series is being somewhat underrated, but hey. I guess not everyone can like it the way you do.
