Un saludo, gente amante del anime, ¿cómo están? El día de hoy, y para presentarme, quiero hablar sobre uno de mis animes favoritos: Attack on Titan, o Shingeki no Kyojin, o Ataque a los Titanes, como quieras llamarlo. Desde 2013, cuando fue su primera emisión, estoy pegado a él. Fue uno de los primeros animes que vi y que de verdad me emocionó y me hizo pensar: ¿Esto es anime? ¿No lo has visto? De verdad lo recomiendo. Te citaré la sinopsis por parte de Crunchyroll:
"Muchos años atrás, la humanidad estuvo al borde de la extinción con la aparición de unas criaturas gigantes que devoraban a todas las personas. Huyendo, la humanidad consiguió sobrevivir en una ciudad fortificada de altas murallas que se ha convertido en el último reducto de la civilización contra los Titanes que campan a sus anchas por el mundo. Ahora esa paz está a punto de verse interrumpida por una cadena de acontecimientos que llevará a desvelar qué son los Titanes y cómo aparecieron."

Greetings, anime lovers, how are you? Today, and to introduce myself, I want to talk about one of my favorite anime: Attack on Titan, or Shingeki no Kyojin, or Attack on Titans, whatever you want to call it. Since 2013, when it was its first airing, I've been glued to it. It was one of the first anime I watched that really got me excited and made me think: Is this anime? Haven't you seen it? I really recommend it. I'll quote you the synopsis from Crunchyroll:
"Many years ago, humanity was on the brink of extinction with the appearance of giant creatures that devoured all people. On the run, humanity managed to survive in a fortified city of high walls that has become the last stronghold of civilization against the Titans that roam the world. Now that peace is about to be interrupted by a chain of events that will lead to unveiling what the Titans are and how they appeared."
Aunque es una buena sinopsis, creo que este anime tiene mucho más que ofrecer. No daré spoilers, bueno, quizás unos muy pequeños pero nada concreto. Desde el principio me sorprendió por ser un shonen de acción frenética y luchas implacables con personajes increíbles que se empezaron a desarrollar increíblemente desde el principio de la obra. Con cuatro temporadas, me sorprendió demasiado. A veces había tanta acción que tenía que pausarlo para respirar, y de ahí pasaba a tener revelaciones tan increíbles que por lo mismo tenía que pausarlo para pensar qué diablos había pasado. Sobre todo la última temporada, pasó de un shonen explosivo e intrigante a un seinen bélico desgarrador que definitivamente me volvió loco. Su final fue difícil para mí, me gustó, me encantó, pero después de casi 10 años de ver este anime, al saber que la obra ya terminó, siento un vacío muy grande. Lo recomiendo mucho, fue un anime que cambió mi vida y que para mí nunca pasa de moda. Tiene un trasfondo tremendo y personalmente me hizo pensar respecto a la vida, la libertad y la amistad.
¿Qué tanto sacrificarías para ser verdaderamente libre? Y no todo es tan feliz como te gustaría. La obra, a mi parecer, presenta estas ideas de manera muy cruda. ¿De verdad está bien vivir en una burbuja de "felicidad" y "seguridad"? ¿Eso es libertad? Son preguntas que acompañan al protagonista y te harán plantearte a ti mismo: con verdadero poder, ¿sabes qué serías capaz de hacer y por qué lo harías? Un desarrollo de personaje, vuelvo a recalcar, soberbio y enriquecedor. Y no te asustes, el anime desde un principio te llevará de la mano para que entiendas todo. Será sencillo, no te lanzará nada de repente a la cara. Solo debes sentarte y dejarte llevar hasta que este mundo te cubra por completo y atrape tu corazón.

Although it's a good synopsis, I think this anime has a lot more to offer. I won't give spoilers, well, maybe some very small ones but nothing concrete. From the beginning it surprised me by being a shonen of frenetic action and relentless fights with amazing characters that started to develop incredibly from the beginning of the show. With four seasons, it surprised me too much. At times there was so much action that I had to pause it to breathe, and from there it would go on to have such incredible revelations that by the same token I had to pause it to think about what the heck had happened. Especially the last season, it went from an explosive and intriguing shonen to a heartbreaking war seinen that definitely drove me crazy. Its ending was difficult for me, I liked it, I loved it, but after almost 10 years of watching this anime, knowing that the show is over, I feel a very big void. I highly recommend it, it was an anime that changed my life and for me it never gets old. It has a tremendous background and personally made me think about life, freedom and friendship.
How much would you sacrifice to be truly free? And not everything is as happy as you would like it to be. The play, in my opinion, presents these ideas in a very raw way. Is it really okay to live in a bubble of "happiness" and "security"? Is that freedom? These are questions that accompany the protagonist and will make you ask yourself: with real power, do you know what you would be able to do and why you would do it? A character development, I stress again, superb and enriching. And don't be scared, the anime from the beginning will take you by the hand so that you understand everything. It will be simple, it will not throw anything suddenly in your face. You just have to sit back and let yourself go until this world covers you completely and captures your heart.
