A Silent Voice An Emotionally Draining Journey
Hi anime lovers, welcome to my blog again šš
I just finished rewatching the movie "A Silent Voice" again, and this movie always manages to make my chest feel tight... It's not just a movie, but an emotionally draining journey about regret, forgiveness, and one man's desperate attempt to atone for his past sins...
The root of all their issues is their messed up past in grade school. Shoya was the ringleader, a bored troublemaker, and Shoko was the new deaf girl trying to make friends with her notebook. And Shoya, looking for anything to entertain himself, saw her kindness as the perfect weakness to exploit. So, she became his target It starts as a prank, but slowly turns into real cruelty. From throwing her notebooks into the pool, to the worst, damaging and removing her expensive hearing aids repeatedly...
The first turning point came when Shoya's actions were exposed. In an instant, his friends and even his teachers turned on him. This betrayal shatters her world. And the two of them switched roles. Shoko changes schools and Shoya is now ostracized, alone to bear the burden that has shaped him into a loner teenager, full of social anxiety, and unable to look people in the face. It is this guilt that drives the teenage Shoya to seek out Shoko again. He not only wants to apologize, but also wants to rebuild the communication he once destroyed with his own hands. Slowly but sure, his efforts seem to be paying off. They begin to get close, and a fragile circle of friendship begins to form...
That hope reaches its peak in the fireworks festival scene. Dressed in yukata, they gather like normal teenagers, giving a glimmer of hope that everything will be okay. However, on a bridge with beautiful fireworks in the background, all that fragility explodes...
Overwhelmed by feelings of inappropriateness and fear, Shoya returns to his old self. He brutally exposes the lies between his friends, destroying all the relationships he has worked so hard to build...
This scene is so painful. The beauty of the fireworks bears silent witness to the ugly and painful explosion of emotions. It was a pivotal moment that Shoya's past wounds still hadn't healed. In front of Shoko, she destroyed everything, which ultimately pushed Shoko to her lowest point...
This movie is just brilliant, brutal reminder that if you don't deal with your old wounds and guilt, they'll always find a way to blow up in your face. The conflict on the bridge is a direct consequence of the betrayal in the classroom years ago, a proof that before making peace with others, we must first make peace with our own past...

Who is Nur Satrio ?
Hi, I'm Tio, a lover of stories, whether written on the pages of a book, presented in adventurous games, or engraved in the incredibly beautiful nature of Indonesia. In my free time, I like to immerse myself in fictional worlds, build small worlds by assembling Gundam models, and explore new places that offer fresh air and soothing views.
For me, life is not about how fast we run, but how much beauty we get to enjoy along the way. I believe that every book has a universe, every journey has a story, and every second we spend in nature is a quiet expression of gratitude that calms the heart.
