Fruits Basket
Hello everyone, today I will be presenting an anime which is underrated. Its not added to people's one of the best anime list but it's in my list so I want to introduce you guys to this anime. The name of the anime is Fruits Basket, this is not a reverse harem but you will find love triangle. I do not like harem/reverse-harem I try to avoid it as much as possible. But I like to see normal love story also love triangle works for me.
I have always heard good things about this anime series, this anime has helped me get through many things. From whatever I have heard that they are sticking to the manga. The manga is so good and is so the anime. The English voice actors are same as the japanese dubbed. So, you can enjoy it in English dub too. It felt like I squeezed some lemons in my eyes when I watched this anime. I haven't been this emotional watching anime in a while because this anime is one of the best. At first it was released in 2001 but they decided to remake it in 2019 with better visuals. The old one is OG but the new one is not any less.

Plot
Tohru Honda is an orphan. She is a high school girl and a very hardworking person. She had nowhere to go, so she was living in a tent. After her mother died in a car accident, her temporary home was destroyed. At the high school she attended, there was a classmate named Yuki Sohma, who knew Tohru. Yuki and his older cousin, Shigure, found out that she was living in a tent, so they offered to take her in.
After a while, another person named Kyo arrives. He is also part of their family and often challenges Yuki to a fight. Tohru accidentally falls and hugs them while they are fighting, and she discovers the family’s secret. There are 12 members of the Sohma family, and each is possessed by an animal of the Chinese Zodiac. It is also revealed that when they are hugged by someone of the opposite sex, or if they feel unwell, they will transform into their respective zodiac animal.
We also find out that Kyo is possessed by the spirit of the cat, which is not considered part of the official Zodiac cycle. He has a fate that is worse than the other members. On the other hand, Yuki, the rat of the zodiac, has always been lonely and bullied by the head of the Sohma family. As time passes, Tohru gets to know them better and slowly helps them grow and heal. Both Yuki and Kyo fall in love with Tohru.
Review
This anime will help you to confront your emotional baggage and past traumas. Fruits Basket can be a pretty emotional ride, Tohru is one of the kindest character I gave ever seen. She is a selfless character who always putting others needs before her own. The soundtracks are just mesmerizing and has a heartfelt story line. Every character has their own pain and backstory. But Tohru helped then to accept their fate and move on.
I feel inspired by the character Tohru because she faced so many struggles in her life but still she never gave up and confronted her reality with a warm smile on her face. She also accepts everyone without judging them for their behaviour. She made everything look easier but in real she is in pain deep which she tries to hide from everyone. As she don't want to bother anyone but still the pain reflects through her eyes.
To be honest I appreciate the hard work of the artist who has created this masterpiece. This anime brings so much lesson to be applied in our lives. This is gonna be one of my favorite anime of all time because it has touched my heart. I would love to see more anime like this and for sure it will never make me tired. Fruits Basket is a highly recommended anime. One thing I must say that it was more than a romance journey, because to me it feels like a healing journey. The romance is not the main element of this anime there will be comedy but more life lessons. The back stories will give you heart wrenching experience.
If you ask me if I would watch this anime again then I will say Yes because it's worth watching multiple times. There are three seasons in total and all of them are great. Today I have only reviewed season 1 but I will soon review the other seasons too.
