This one was probably one of the drafts that stayed long in my notes because it took me days to finalize it. Not that it's hard to finish, but some things came up. I was finishing up my third drawing of Konoha women when another opportunity to practice my future career appeared. Anyway, it didn't last for several days, so I was able to finish drawing her just before Heihei exhaled her last breath. Even up until now, I'm quite exhausted from crying over her death this morning. It was out of nowhere when she suddenly weakened and became ill.
Anyway, enough of that and before I stray away from the main purpose of this art blog, join me for a while as I share with you the supposedly brief process of drawing one of the beautiful kunoichi of Konoha—Ino Yamanaka.
Materials Needed:
- Acrylic Paint
- Alcohol Markers
- Scissors
- Watercolor Pencils
- Brush
The Process:
1. I first make a rough sketch of her based on the reference I printed long time ago.
2. Then I erase the unnecessary lines and make a cleaner version of it.
3. Without much thinking, I proceed to color it with watercolor pencils, markers, and then acrylic paint.
4. Since there are shades of her hair that are colored quite darker, I mixed the pale yellow paint I had already mixed earlier with the color gray to achieve that a darker shade of yellow.
5. After mixing them well, I then paint them on those shaded parts.
6. And since it wasn't dry yet, I decided to add design to her background before I proceed to add the tiny details of her face.
7. I'm done with the background, but I realized that her skin tone isn't fair that why I mixed some acrylic paint to make a shade that match her pale skin and after mixing, I painted it on her skin.
8. When they're all dried, I then proceed to the last part of this process—the making of the fine details.
It took me decent amount of trial and errors to somehow give her a decent smile because when I do the red ballpen I use always smudge, so in the end I use a very small amount of red acrylic paint to redden her tiny lips.
Voila! She's hot to go~
Every artwork I make is indeed a new experience. There are days that they get finished immediately, while there are days that they get delayed, or I end up procrastinating them. Each of them is a unique experience because I never knew what would happen during the creation process, but just as I face unexpected things in life, I always find ways to adapt and overcome them if they're bringing problems. This process wasn't an exception because I also experienced unforeseen circumstances while making it. This sharing may be quite delayed, but still, it's better late than never, right?
Enough with the realizations, I do hope you enjoyed and learn something from the process. Thank you and that would be all for now, minna-san.
