Around 2018 or so, I stumbled upon a "wholesome" omegaverse manga for the first time... so I got hooked and decided to follow it up to this year (the manga started around 2016 and is still ongoing). Then, last season the anime version was released and it made me really excited, but I tried to endure until it's completed so I could binge-watch. And yes, in a single week, I watched it twice.
The anime I'm talking about is called Tadaima, Okaeri.

Before we talk about the anime, let me tell you something about its subgenre first.
OMEGAVERSE is a subgenre of erotic fan fiction. This world has a dominance hierarchy among humans. They're often divided into dominant (alpha), neutral (beta) and submissive (omega).
An omega (regardless of its gender), is capable of getting pregnant and are often discriminated in most BL Omegaverse because they undergo "heat" which affects not only themselves but also the alpha.
Now, on to the story...

Aiming to start their life anew, the househusband Masaki (omega), his husband Hiromu (alpha) and their son Hikari moved to a new neighborhood. Their marriage is frowned upon by many people because of Masaki's secondary gender.
Hiromu, despite being an alpha, also faced discrimination for choosing an omega to be with. That's why, they decided to leave the city and live in the suburb to provide a better environment for their small family. (In most BL Omegaverse, pairing an alpha and an omega is not that big of a problem unless the omega is recessive and less likely to produce an alpha child, but this world prefers to marry people of the same secondary genders.).

Luckily for these two, despite the discrimination and hardships, they're blessed with an adorable child who made their lives more worth living.
The anime is basically how they live their everyday life as they meet new friends and acquaintances along the way.

I have been in love with this story ever since I read the manga version and seeing the characters brought to life through the anime made me extremely delighted.
The kids are definitely the highlight of this anime... especially Hikari. He's a really kind and lovable kid. He's got so much love to give, not only to his parents but also to everyone around him.
He's dependable that he's always willing to protect his parents and his friends. Although he has this mature side, he still enjoys being a kid. I guess his parents raised him really well.
They're the type of neighbor I'd love to have. If they were indeed my neighbor, I'd be staying at their place and play with the kids all the time just like Yuki (an initially antisocial college student).
I know BL isn't a popular genre, but I really recommend this anime. I mentioned earlier that I watched the series twice in a single week. It's because I recommended it to my mom and obviously, I watched it with her. hahaha I just can't help but share this piece of heaven and happiness.
There are a lot of interesting side characters as well. Perhaps in the coming seasons, you'd get to know more of them. In the manga, they have their own side stories which are also really heartwarming just like the main story.
Needless to say, the art, animation style and music used really fit the characters and the story pretty well.
I hope you all give this a shot. It's a great anime which spreads love, happiness and positivity despite living in such a cruel world full of prejudice.
Thanks for reading and see you next time! (^^,)/
