Ahora con la llegada de la nueva serie de las winx decidí ponerle fin a la larga que le estaba dando de hacer cosplay de Musa mi winx favorita. Las winx son una de mis series favoritas, hoy día la sigo viendo de vez en cuando varias veces.
Musa es el hada de la música, su personalidad de alguien que suele ocultar lo que siente, muchas veces le gusta estar sola y es alguien de sentimientos complicados y ups debo decir que por eso me identifico con ella. Ella ama la música y logra expresarse a través de ella, además de que me parece la winx más bonita, simplemente es mi personaje favorito y como ya viene la nueva serie tenía que hacer algo de ella antes del estreno y hey estamos en el mes de su cumpleaños así que es un buen momento para esto.
Now, with the arrival of the new Winx series, I decided to put an end to my long-standing desire to cosplay Musa, my favorite Winx. Winx is one of my favorite series; I still watch it every now and then.
Musa is the fairy of music. Her personality is that of someone who tends to hide her feelings. She often likes to be alone and has complicated feelings, and whoops, I must say that's why I identify with her. She loves music and manages to express herself through it. Besides, I think she's the prettiest Winx. She's simply my favorite character, and since the new series is coming soon, I had to do something about her before the premiere. Hey, it's her birthday month, so it's a good time for this.
Musa club winx
No soy de hacer mis cosplays, muy pocas veces los eh hecho, solo hago algunas cosas, los lentes de contacto, la peluca y zapatos los pedí en mi tienda de confianza de compras al exterior. Esta vez no pedí el traje de una tienda de estas especializadas en cosplay porque cuando lo busqué me parecía muy caro para lo que realmente es el traje porque, aunque es muy lindo pues la verdad es poca tela así que decidí comisionar a una tienda que hace cosplays por encargo.
Era mi primera vez ordenando un cosplay a medida sin estar presente para las medidas, todo fue online, se me paso por alto pedir ciertos detalles del traje, pero como era mi primera vez creí que si pedía el traje me lo daban con todo y accesorios, pero no y la verdad tiene sentido, para la próxima señalo todo lo que quiero pedir. En fin, pedí el traje y las alas. Cuando me llego el cosplay todo quedo perfecto, es hermoso y con lo que estuve más contenta fue la tela porque daba el efecto que quería, en la serie el traje de las winx brilla y lanza destellos en ciertas partes y esta tela de lentejuelas lo logro. Esa tela me hizo mega feliz porque no todas las telas con lentejuelas son iguales.
I'm not one to make my own cosplays. I've rarely done so. I only make a few things. I ordered the contact lenses, wig, and shoes from my local store when I shop abroad. This time, I didn't order the costume from one of these specialty cosplay stores because when I looked it up, it seemed too expensive for what the costume actually is. Although it's very pretty, the fabric is actually quite small, so I decided to commission a store that makes custom cosplays.
It was my first time ordering a custom cosplay without being present for the measurements; everything was done online. I forgot to ask for certain details about the costume, but since it was my first time, I thought if I ordered the costume, they would give it to me with everything and accessories. But no, and it actually makes sense. Next time, I'll indicate everything I want to order. Anyway, I ordered the costume and the wings. When my cosplay arrived, everything was perfect. It's beautiful, and what I was most pleased with was the fabric because it gave me the effect I wanted. In the series, the Winx costume shines and sparkles in certain areas, and this sequin fabric achieved it. That fabric made me super happy because not all sequin fabrics are the same.
Algo que tuve que hacer fue cortar la falda, pero son solo detalles, no estuve presente para las medidas y el largo de la falda lo pedí yo, así que no fue un problema cortarlo, la maya que va debajo del top y la falda la hizo estilo body y es una malla bastante resistente así que otro punto más.
Las alas las pedí sencillas y yo les agregaría los otros detalles para que se parecieran más a las de musa, con algo de tela y cintas termine el acabado que quería y están lindísimas, lo que más me importaba era tener la estructura y tela que las cubriera, mi ciudad en mi pequeña así que muchos materiales para inventar no hay, por eso pedí las alas en vez de hacerlas.
One thing I had to do was cut the skirt, but those are just details. I wasn't there for the measurements, and I ordered the length of the skirt myself, so it wasn't a problem cutting it. The mesh that goes under the top and skirt was made in a bodysuit style and is a fairly sturdy mesh, so that's another point.
I ordered the wings plain, and I would add the other details to make them look more like Muse's. With some fabric and ribbons, I finished the look I wanted, and they're beautiful. What mattered most to me was having the structure and fabric to cover them. My city is small, so there aren't many materials to invent, so I ordered the wings instead of making them.
Me paso que todo en el cosplay era super largo y requería de cortar jajaja, cuando pedí la peluca me pareció un poco cara pero era la única que encontré que se adaptaba a lo que buscaba, cuando llego era tan larga y entendí el precio, era el precio justo para una peluca de ese largo, yo no había revisado el largo de la peluca en la página, error mío, pero como cosplayer de años no le temo a ninguna peluca o tela así que también procedí a cortarla y arreglarla hasta que se pareciera al peinado de musa. Musa en la serie ha tenido el cabello corto y largo, personalmente me gusta más con el cabello corto, pero no tenía muchas ganas de trabajar tanto en la peluca para hacer su peinado corto, así que lo deje así, más adelante lo hare ya que puedo hacer que la peluca sirva para usar los dos peinados, tanto el corto como el largo.
It happened to me that everything in the cosplay was super long and required cutting lol, when I ordered the wig it seemed a little expensive but it was the only one I found that fit what I was looking for, when it arrived it was so long and I understood the price, it was the right price for a wig of that length, I had not checked the length of the wig on the page, my mistake, but as a cosplayer for years I am not afraid of any wig or fabric so I also proceeded to cut it and fix it until it resembled Musa's hairstyle. Musa in the series has had short and long hair, personally I like her better with short hair, but I didn't really feel like working so much on the wig to make her short hairstyle, so I left it like that, later I will do it since I can make the wig work to use both hairstyles, both short and long.
Lo siguiente, las botas, encontrar las botas fue un problema porque resulta que unos exactos a los de musa no hay a comparación de los otros personajes, yo soy muy perfeccionista y quería que se vieran como en la serie, los que lucían iguales a los de la serie eran estos sin embargo como ven son muy altos pero como ya se me hizo costumbre en el proceso de este cosplay procedí a pedir las botas y a cortarlas, los medí muy bien para que quedaran parejos, no fue tan difícil cocerlos y al final quedaron justo como quería.
Next, the boots, finding the boots was a problem because it turns out that there are no exact ones like Musa's compared to the other characters, I am a perfectionist and I wanted them to look like in the series, the ones that looked the same as in the series were these however as you can see they are very high but as I became accustomed to in the process of this cosplay I proceeded to order the boots and cut them, I measured them very well so that they would be even, it was not that difficult to sew them and in the end they were just as I wanted.
Faltaban los audífonos y los accesorios de los brazos, tenía bastante tela morada de un cosplay anterior y que era lo que necesitaba así que de eso me encargaría yo, hice unas sencillas cintas rectas y las coci a mano.
The headphones and arm accessories were missing, I had a lot of purple fabric from a previous cosplay and that was what I needed so I would take care of that, I made some simple straight ribbons and sewed them by hand.
Para los audífonos quería algo que se viera diferente porque los audífonos de musa en la serie me parecen que funciona pero son tan sencillos que cuando los veo es cosplays me da la sensación de que en efecto se ven de mentira por lo sencillos que son así que para mi suerte tenía estos audífonos que se me habían dañado y no los bote y que bueno que no lo hice, fueron ideales, pinte las parte de plástico con pintura morada, les había quedado un agujero donde iba el micrófono lo cubrí con un círculo de foami, con tela morada cubrí las partes de tela que no podían ser pintadas.
For the headphones I wanted something that looked different because Muse's headphones in the series seem like they work to me but they are so simple that when I see them in cosplays I get the feeling that they actually look fake because of how simple they are so luckily I had these headphones that had been damaged and I didn't throw them away and it's a good thing I didn't, they were ideal, I painted the plastic parts with purple paint, there was a hole left where the microphone went and I covered it with a circle of foam, with purple fabric I covered the parts of the fabric that couldn't be painted.
Normalmente cuando se hace cosplay de las winx también muchos suelen hacer sus vestimentas casuales ya que así se hace un juego entre antes y después de su transformación a magic winx, y justamente cuando estaba trabajando en los detalles del cosplay un día de esos que salí a hacer mercado unos de los puestos de en frente al tenían este top rojo de una sola manga, quede en shock, fue como: AAAAHHHHH es una winx señal y lo compre, de una, como iba a dejar pasar eso, no se puede jajaja.
Normally when cosplaying Winx many people also tend to wear casual clothes since this way there is a game between before and after their transformation into Magic Winx, and just when I was working on the details of the cosplay one of those days when I went out to the market one of the stalls in front had this red top with one sleeve, I was in shock, it was like: AAAAHHHHH it's a Winx sign and I bought it, right away, how could I let that go, I can't hahaha.
Ya con todo listo llego el día en que planifique la sesión de fotos, busque imágenes de musa, videos para tomar inspiración de sus poses, me tome tanto fotos en su vestimenta casual y en el traje magic winx.
Después de tener todas las fotos y recoger el desastre que deja tomar una sesión de fotos viene el seleccionar que fotos subiré, cuales se descartan para luego jugar con ellas en Photoshop.
Dato triste de la sesión de fotos: me puse las alas al revés así que mi trabajo en las alas pues no se vio.
With everything ready, the day arrived to plan the photoshoot. I looked for images of Muse and videos to inspire her poses. I took photos of myself in both her casual attire and the Magic Winx costume.
After collecting all the photos and cleaning up the mess that comes with taking a photoshoot, it's time to select which photos to upload, which ones to discard, and then play with them in Photoshop.
A sad fact about the photoshoot: I put my wings on backward, so my work on the wings wasn't visible.
