Last week I watched Kimetsu No Yaiba: Infinity Castle with my friends in the movie theater. I had plans to watch it right away when it came out but my friends also wanted to watch so I resisted the temptation of watching it first. It was @thinkeringbart's 2nd time watching though. But for the rest of the group, it was our first time.
May contain spoilers from here on!
The movie started where it left off from the anime TV series - they were dropped to the infinity castle. Now they have to pick up their balance, or to land safely. Not super safe because the demons were waiting for them.
Prior to that, there was a quiet scene recalling Himejima's promise to Oyakata-sama (お館様) which was Ubuyashiki, their leader. Later on, Muichiro, the mist hashira, who was with him in the infinity castle, confirmed about the death of their leader to Himejima. It was sad but he understood.

The first major battle was between Shinobu, the insect hashira, and Doma, the 2nd kizuki. Their backstory was also shown. Shinobu is always seen smiling but behind, she's deeply angry. Doma is also seen as friendly. 2 cheerful souls in one intense battlefield.
One word that struck with our group was when Shinobu was ordered to stand up (立ちなさい!) when she didn't want to fight any longer. That one word just hit differently, it's as if it's telling me to never ever give up even when everything is tough and all seems impossible. Later, it became a strong word or inside joke within our group of friends. 😅
I think their story lasted for almost an hour. And yeah I was checking the time because in my mind, wow, this fight scene's too long, how about the other characters.
The 2nd major battle was between Zenitsu, the friend and peer of Tanjiro, and Kaigaku, who got promoted to upper rank 6. Kaigaku was once a demon slayer and he is the senpai of Zenitsu but when he encountered Kokushibo, the upper rank 1 demon, he became a demon himself, leaving everything else behind, including his oath as a demon slayer.
This part of the movie was what made me moved to tears the most. Only one line from a character close to Zenitsu's heart made my heart break. I couldn't hold back my tears any longer. Luckily @revlat35 who was sitting on my right side didn't seem to notice it. The stranger on the left side maybe noticed but I didn't care anymore. 😅
Speaking of @revlat35, he watched the movie with us but it was his first time ever watching Kimetsu No Yaiba. He didn't have any clue or know any of the characters, so everything was unknown to him. Plus, in theaters, we can't talk much, so after the movie he bombarded us with questions. 😅 During the movie @itz.inno who was sitting on his other side said something related to the movie but he didn't understand. It was so funny! Of course, the movie is in Japanese, and there's no English subtitles so I can't imagine how he took everything that's happening. 😂

The last major battle was between Tanjiro, Giyu and Akaza. This battle was the most intense battle. The backstory of Akaza was soooo long that I didn't realize I slept and skipped some scenes. His memories as a human was heartbreaking and painful and and and zzz.. I slept. 😂
Akaza was so obsessed with being stronger but he forgot the purpose. He lost his memories of being human, but during the fight, he remembered bit by bit. Apparently Giyu and Tanjiro had some resemblances to the people of his human life. Akaza was a strong opponent to defeat because even with demon's weakness, he was able to overcome it by his willpower. But later, it was revealed that he hadn't completely lost his sense of humanity.
I always wonder if I would become that obsessed that I lost some parts of me. I think I wouldn't and hopefully will never be. As of now, I don't have anything to be obsess about. It's also hard to judge other people who becomes one like Akaza. As long as you don't lose sight of what you're doing for, I think it's okay.
The movie ended after almost 3 hours. It was such an incredible movie. The animation - it's really the best. Thank you ufotable! The story - 10/10! And I couldn't believe they both got LiSA and Aimer to sing their soundtrack! It just added spice to the entire movie! The demon slayer playlist is also available on Spotify and I'm listening to it while writing this.
We watched this movie at Toho Cinemas Kawasaki. We availed of the premium seats, so it was really comfortable. You can't really blame me why I slept for few minutes during the movie. The seat was just too comfortable. And we woke up early to watch the first show which was in the morning. 😅
The end of Kimetsu No Yaiba is near but not so near because the next 2 movies are rumored to be out on 2027 and 2029. There's still chance to catch up!
Will I be recommending this movie? OF COURSE! You shouldn't miss this! I'm actually thinking of watching it again, next time on IMAX or those special decorated seats. I'm pretty sure the visuals on IMAX will be superb. But I also wanted to try the theater with the demon slayer designs. Waaah! I can't seem to decide. Welp! Or should I just stay home? LOL
Happy Hive Power Up Day!
