Hello Hive, I missed the old days when I posted here. I also haven't drawn lately, so I decided to change something in my style.
I was obsessed with adding as many details as possible. It was exhausting. With each new drawing, I demanded more and more details from myself. It stopped being fun. So, I stopped drawing. I tried a few times to start again, but I couldn't finish anything. I also started losing my drawing skills. Eventually, I stopped drawing completely.
But I missed the state of mind I had when I put marks on paper or a digital canvas. I missed the feeling of drawing on a cold screen. I missed this ritual. So, I decided to draw simply — maybe ugly, shapeless, boring, wrong, silly, or even garbage pictures. It doesn't matter. The process is more important than the result. And process is the result itself. If I have a great process, I'll end up with a decent result.
I like how Procreate documents a process of creation. Will AI ever be able to simulate such videos? There is a thought process behind where to put a line, which shapes I see, and so on. It seems impossible to imitate such things, but who knows? I also recently read that AI usually automate what people like to do, but rarely that automates boring activities. Which is sad.
And here's one more picture that lacks details, but I like that it has its own mood. Thank you for reading this far
