Sometimes things don't go as planned

Hola amigos. En el dibujo de hoy siento un poco de decepción, pero a la vez me gusto el resultado. El titulo se debe a que en realidad este dibujo estaba destinado a ser un rostro saliendo de hojas de papel, pero termino viéndose como cemento roto, incluso quise hacerlo en blanco y negro porque pensé que de esta manera conseguiría mas facil esa textura de papel. Al darme cuenta que no pude lograrlo termine de darle la textura de pared, aunque me hubiese gustado que el rostro estuviera un poco mas integrado a los escombros alrededor. Espero que les guste.

I'm a little disappointed with today's drawing, but I also like the result. The title is because this drawing was actually meant to be a face emerging from sheets of paper, but it ended up looking like broken cement. I even wanted to do it in black and white because I thought it would make it easier to achieve that paper texture. When I realized I couldn't pull it off, I ended up giving it the wall texture, although I would have liked the face to blend in a little more with the surrounding rubble. I hope you like it.

Proceso/Process

Realice el boceto y luego comencé a pintar, como les comenté utilicé escala de grises, aplique luces y sombras y en una nueva capa añadí más tonalidades para darle mejor forma al rostro, luego comencé a mezclar los colores sin dar demasiados detalles ya que quería dejar una textura rustica.

I made the sketch and then began to paint, as I mentioned I used grayscale, applied lights and shadows and in a new layer I added more tones to give the face a better shape, then I began to mix the colors without giving too many details since I wanted to leave a rustic texture.

Luego comencé a detallar todos los trozos alrededor del rostro y a pintar grietas oscuras, detalle un poco mas cada grieta agregando finas líneas de blanco para darle volumen. Tambien quise añadir una grieta en el rostro, luego añadí profundidad en zonas que quería oscurecer como los ojos y nariz. Finalmente agregue algunos detalles de luz en zonas que quería resaltar.

Then I began detailing all the pieces around the face and painting dark cracks. I further detailed each crack by adding thin white lines to give it volume. I also wanted to add a crack to the face, then added depth to areas I wanted to darken, like the eyes and nose. Finally, I added some light details to areas I wanted to highlight.
