The Hagakure is a text that contains the ancient ethical code of the Japanese warrior.
inside this book you'll find a quote by his creator Yamamoto Tsunemono:
I have discovered that the Way of the Samurai is to die.
Be clear that this is not an invitation to violence or suicide. Choosing death means sacrificing one's life for others and choosing the most difficult path, the one that allows you to test yourself.
If death is always near, there is nothing left to do but prepare for its coming and by facing it, one understands the value of life.
Behind the work
in this work I used a very different process than usual to create an aesthetically pleasing helmet, must admit that i really like looking at the helmet pieces separated from each other✨.

I started from a simple sketch to get an idea of perspective and shape,
I haven't drawn in a long time and I've lost my skills a bit😅 but fortunately i was able to get a right angle to start working on the collage.
For the materials i didn't use much, i just needed a head in the right perspective and an image with a cool metal-like texture to get the helmet done.
I had a hard really hard time finding a head with the right perspective and... expression😵
But fortunately, i found a western comic in the flea market just outside my city which had just what I was looking for!
I'm really happy with the result, at first I wasn't sure what shape to give to the helmet. but as I went on with the work it made me clearer how the elements were to be manipulated.
and when I took my hands off the mouse and keyboard and stopped to look at the result i was like...WOW😎
hope that you enjoyed the post! see ya👋
