The tone of the comic begins to evolve again in Issue 6, and I think these two pages make that shift pretty obvious. The series started off with art deco and noir inspirations, moved into Lovecraftian horror, mutated into psychedelic cosmic horror, and now removes the pretty colors of Issue 4 to settle into multidimensional slime horror.
These pages are from the perspective of our series antagonist, Rupert Saxton, also known as "Weaver"
He is no longer capable of perceiving time in a linear fashion. As a 5th dimensional being, Rupert perceives the past, present, and future not longer in relation to the order of events, but in relationship to intention, cause and effect, and the whims of the cosmos. To make matters even more confusing, his perceptions of reality are dramatically affected by parallel realities within the multiverse. He thinks all this knowledge makes him powerful, a god even, but in truth it is merely driving him mad and subhuman.
