Yesterday the long-awaited package arrived to me! And in it... an absolutely amazing, incredibly lively and spirited BJD David!
I can't get enough of him, he is so lively and gorgeous that I even have never dreamed of having such a doll before).
I am going to make a pictures session with him some time later.)
The story of creation of this doll is very long) On aliexpress we once came across a BJD mold, which physique was similar to David and his name was even David! We decided that it was destiny) So, waiting for the New Year discounts, we bought two dolls) But the face of the doll was not like David (David has high cheekbones, big heads and thin mouth, and the doll was the opposite) because we usually have several projects in the works, and this BJD doll was our first, we decided to put it off until good times) Then we were lucky enough to buy a 3D model of David's bust. And Julia suggested us to use the face of this bust for the BJD head. Fortunately, we knew a craftsman. At the same time we solved the question about the wigs - David's hair is complicated and many artists refused to do it, so it was still a quest and not a cheap pleasure) And we were waiting for the wigs for about half a year).
Eyes just the same custom-made glass).
Clothing sewed our friend seamstresses. So far, one bow - but the most recognizable and favorite).
Olga was the first time we dyed the dolls - but it seems that the inborn accuracy, sense of taste and great love for David gave positive results) The resemblance to a portrait is unbelievably beautiful! Also Olga and Julia had the dolls re-stitched, since the factory ones were horrible and didn't hold the dolls' poses well.
I can honestly say that I did very little to create this David) Only in St. Petersburg myself brought a carcass for painting) When I went to visit the girls for a month) In fact, everything was organized by the girls)
For what my dear friends a HUGE thank you) Dreams come true) By the way now we are working on a new project and it is not David, and the real man, but having to do with the movie "Prometheus" and "Alien. Covenant").
