Greetings to the Alien Art and Splinterlands community for providing us week after week with a creative space where imagination has no limits. Each new challenge, each new character proposed or each free interpretation they allow us to create, becomes a personal and collective journey through digital art, fantasy and the unexpected.
Today I want to share with you a very special character born from a mix of retro inspiration, science fiction and a reinterpretation of the celestial:
An angel, but not just any angel... but an angel torn from his time, thrown into an alternative reality where the divine merges with neon, holograms and the 80s. His name has not yet been defined, but his presence is so marked that perhaps he doesn't need one.

Cada nuevo reto, cada nuevo personaje propuesto o cada interpretación libre que nos permiten crear, se convierte en un viaje personal y colectivo a través del arte digital, la fantasía y lo inesperado.
Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un personaje muy especial que nació de una mezcla de inspiración retro, ciencia ficción y una reinterpretación de lo celestial:
Un ángel, pero no cualquiera… sino un ángel arrancado de su tiempo, arrojado a una realidad alternativa donde lo divino se funde con el neón, los hologramas y los años 80.
I wanted to mix the light tones with a modern sci-fi aesthetic. The bright suits, the shiny suits, the midnight sunglasses and that feeling that he doesn't belong in that parallel universe, where there are data scanners of his wings and everything is data driven and he is trapped in there, a modern angel. I started by highlighting the "SPLINTERLANDS" branding on his waistcoat with bezel and embossing to create depth.
Quise mezclar los tonos claros con una estética sci-fi moderna. , , los trajes brillantes, las gafas de sol a medianoche y esa sensación de que no pertenece a ese universo paralelo, donde hay scanners de datos de sus alas y todo es a base de datos y se encuentra atrapado de ahi, un ángel moderno . Comencé por resaltar en su chaleco la marca "SPLINTERLANDS" con bisiel y relieve para crearle profundidad
I cut out his wings from an image of an angel, carefully selecting them to preserve their original shape. Then, I placed the wings beside the character and began diagramming them as if it were a technical analysis — outlining the contours and forms in detail, as if a futuristic artificial intelligence were extracting data from them.
After establishing this concept, I continued to work on the lighting from behind, increasing the brightness and flashes around the character. I wanted to visually reinforce that he is still a figure capable of emitting light, as if his very essence can fly and transcend. The light represents not only his divine power, but also his presence, which continues to illuminate even in the midst of a dark and futuristic environment.
Realicé el recorte de sus alas a partir de una imagen de un ángel, seleccionándolas cuidadosamente para conservar su forma original. Luego, ubiqué esas alas a un lado del personaje y comencé a diagramarlas como si se tratara de un análisis técnico, mostrando las formas y contornos detalladamente, como si una inteligencia artificial del futuro estuviera extrayendo datos de ellas.
Después de establecer este concepto, continué trabajando en la iluminación desde atrás, aumentando el brillo y los destellos alrededor del personaje. Quise reforzar visualmente que, sigue siendo una figura capaz de emitir luz, como si su esencia misma pudiera volar y trascender.
To give it the characteristic light point, I used a white circle in his hands and then a yellow outline, which would be the one spreading across the body to reflect light — and also to make more use of the yellow. The character itself is trapped in an alternate world; it’s a representation taken out of context but, in my opinion, “valid.” It’s something different I wanted to try. Whether it works or not, my way of doing things was a bit basic in my view. But the result will show over time with these new processes.
Then I played with several colors and gave the cover a bit more life with some lore and assets layered on top.
Para darle el punto de luz característico, en sus manos usé un círculo blanco y luego un contorno amarillo, que sería el responsable de esparcirse por todo el cuerpo para reflejar luz, y de paso poder usar el amarillo un poco más. El personaje en sí se encuentra atrapado en un mundo alterno; es una representación sacada de contexto, pero en mi opinión "válida". Es algo diferente que quise hacer. Resulte o no, a mi modo de hacer las cosas fueron un poco básicas a mi criterio. Pero el resultado se verá reflejado con el tiempo en estos nuevos procesos.
Luego jugué con varios colores y le di un poco más de vida a la portada con algo de lore y los assets por encima.
