Hola a todos, estoy muy feliz de reportarme con mi primera entrada para el concurso semanal de @splinterlands ✨, en esta ocasión quise dibujar la carta de Fernheart un druida que escogió la tranquilidad vivir solo en el bosque en la paz de la naturaleza junto a los animales, una vida pacifista, hasta que decidió unirse a los Riftwatchers al enterarse de las atrocidades que cometía la legión del caos. El diseño de la carta se me hizo realmente llamativo, es un tipo de personaje que casi nunca hago, ya que no tengo mucha practica dibujando músculos, así que me pareció un reto divertido, acá les dejo algo del proceso.
Hello everyone, I am very happy to report with my first entry for the weekly contest of @splinterlands ✨, this time I wanted to draw the card of Fernheart a druid who chose the tranquility to live alone in the forest in the peace of nature with the animals, a pacifist life, until he decided to join the Riftwatchers to learn of the atrocities committed by the legion of chaos. The design of the card was really striking, it's a type of character that I almost never do, since I don't have much practice drawing muscles, so I thought it was a fun challenge, here I leave you some of the process.

Comenzando por el boceto, tenia una idea general de lo que quería hacer aunque al no tener mucha practica dibujando músculos pase un buen rato rehaciendo el boceto hasta quedar conforme, especialmente la mano con el hacha y los pectorales me tomaron varios intentos. Luego de terminar el boceto pase al delineado tratando de que lo que llevaba menos detalles fuera con lineas mas gruesas, y lo mas detallado con lineas mas finas, como el rostro o la armadura de los hombros.
Starting with the sketch, I had a general idea of what I wanted to do but not having much practice drawing muscles I spent a long time redoing the sketch until I was satisfied, especially the hand with the axe and the pectorals took me several attempts. After finishing the sketch I moved on to the outlining, trying to draw the less detailed parts with thicker lines, and the more detailed parts with thinner lines, like the face or the armor of the shoulders.
Lo siguiente fue agregar una capa de colores base, tratando de buscar el color correcto en base al dibujo de referencia que esta lleno de colores de sombras o luces por lo que no se determina muy bien el color original.
The next thing was to add a base color layer, trying to find the right color based on the reference drawing which is full of shadows or highlights so the original color is not very well determined.
Luego de eso, toco sombrear dibujo, utilizando varias capas de azul en diferentes tonos y opacidades, en esta parte aproveche de dar mas detalles como las arrugas el rostro o textura en el hacha y en partes como las astas ayudando a mostrar cuales estaban mas lejos o mas cerca.
After that, I shaded the drawing, using several layers of blue in different tones and opacities, in this part I took advantage of giving more details like wrinkles on the face or texture on the axe and in parts like the antlers helping to show which ones were farther or closer.
Para los detalles del brillo, me ayude de varios tonos de verde, con filtros de capa en superponer y sumar con distintas opacidades. Siendo la fuente de luz mas brillante el fuego en la mano, luego le seguían el filo del hacha y los ojos, así que coloque las luces en los lugares donde considere que rebotarían en base a la fuente de luz. Hacer el fuego llevo varias capas, al menos una 3, una de contorno, de brillo y brillo intenso con difuminado para que no se viera como algo solido sino mas fluido, como un aura.
For the details of the brightness, I used various shades of green, with layer filters overlaying and adding with different opacities. The brightest light source being the fire in the hand, then the axe edge and the eyes, so I placed the lights in the places where I considered they would bounce based on the light source. Making the fire took several layers, at least 3, one of contour, brightness and intense brightness with blurring so that it didn't look like something solid but more fluid, like an aura.
Y para terminar coloque un fondo negro y verdes oscuros, uniéndolos con los brillos y los tentáculos/zarcillos de magia y así termine la ilustración, espero les guste el resultado 😁.
And finally I put a black background and dark greens, joining them with glitter and tentacles / tendrils of magic and so I finished the illustration, I hope you like the result 😁.
