Forever on a quest to make things cooler I have been playing with different ways to improve my shop! The basic mockups made by fourthwall are a little boring and lack personality, I have been trying different ways to make fun thumbnails and I think I finally found a method that I like!
I used Leonardo AI over the course of a week to try to generate models wearing various items, sounds easy but AI seems to often ignore half of my prompt ahhhh. I finally managed to get a man and woman wearing a normal looking t-shirt, sweatshirt and hoodie. Next I used the AI feature on @peakd-ai to get it to change only the item color.
The next part was a bit tricky, getting the art on the shirt to look natural. I looked at a bunch of tutorials on youtube and finally found one that is pretty simple using the displace feature. My understanding is it looks at light and shadow and warps the art to fit, so for example if a shirt on the model is not perfectly flat it will conform and give a more natural flow.
Each individual design requires a bit of individual fussing but I have come up with a pretty decent work flow :)
I also ended up changing the blanks because some started to offer larger 15 x 18 prints and the shirts I was using didn't have it. II ended up going with Gildan supersoft which as a bonus is a bit cheaper so I was able to lower the price to 25 USD for tees...
I still have a slight problem for certain items that I am working on but overall I'm loving the retro vibe of these, you can check out my shop here:
