Hello Alien Art Hive Community members. This is my entry in the AAH community contest. I'm happy to participate and bring my version of "Rebirth". My approach to this contest was that of a personal creative experience I view as "In My Mind's Eye".
- Create art related to the above theme
- Make a post about it in Alien Art Hive
- Include the words Cosmic Creations in the title so they are easy to identify in the feed
- Please try to include some process images and discuss the techniques used in your creation
- Drop a link to your entry post the comments below
- The deadline is December 15th Midnight EST

My short poem accompanying my themed-project is below:
"In My Mind's Eye"
In my mind's eye, I sat staring at the blank, white screen. It stared back.
The mouse click pulsated slowly. Gulping down my lifeline and tranquility, I wait.
The wait was not long nor in vain.
I reached for the spinning top torn from the Cracker Jack box.
Caught between my thumb and forefinger, I twirled it on top of my desk.
Just as the top circled around endlessly with no direction,
my head spun as colors overtook my pupils.
At once, bulbous eyes flicker as a monstrous hand
reached through the scope and grasp my head,
pulling me into the slender abyss.
Like Alice, I'm tumbling down the rabbit hole.
The wind tingling at my feet, I gasp.
Then land in a world full of hues and variations with a singular thought.
Sinusoidal. Polar. Fibonocci. Loonie. Mobus. Elliptical. Crackle.
Oscillioscope. Gaussian Blur. Epispiral. Wedge. Separation. Juliascope.
Decisions. Decision.
For God's sake, resolve the inner turmoil this instant.
The stuff life is reduce to. Favorite or foe.
Light and airy or dark and dramatic.
Quickly, I grasp at the fabric of darkness, for in itself
I see my soul thumping loudly within
as if banging my head against the stark, dense drywall.
I'm about to enter the distraction that consumes sanity
inside the Twilight Zone, I mused.
Often deluding myself into grandeur while residing in its cul-de-sac.
I stand razor sharp, having peeled back the layers of frenzy.
Looking out over the distance, the void cracked.
I scream a cacophony of agony, tearing at my innards.
Crimson flows like a dream.
No pain exudes the senses there.
Only winding, tortured colors stuffed with delight,
stringing me along their shafts.
Like a kaleidoscope, I allowed it to enter into the other side.
The side where infinite fractals and digital art await.
The universe is at my fingertips.
Oftentimes confusion bludgeons my thoughts,
I don't know what to expect when I start down a known path,
I sway the senses with the blink of my eye.
Lure shapes to bend at my will.
Beaten down by the weight of agony, I vomit the truth of resurrection.
Then, drool at the possibilities laid before me, I breathe in with delight.
At last, I emerge with a fistful of horror that is my rebirth.

For this month's contest involving Rebirth, my theme reflects inward as I explore my design process whenever I'm about to launch a new fractal rendering session. So the theme pertains to ME. I'm reborn each time I create a new design project.
I wanted to showcase two pure fractals I recently created. With these fractals, the background and foreground would play an important part of the overall scene.
"Star in Full Bloom." This first pure fractal I created was the star of the project. Immediately, I knew I wanted the image to be encased in some type of shape to signify the rebirth process. I rendered this fractal on a transparent background. So experience its full beauty, it must be shown on a black canvas.
"Night's Reflection." This second pure fractal was an extraordinary rendering that resembles lost in the dark. I can see myself fighting to emerge. This fractal is a one of a kind that I've ever produced that elicits this feeling of fright in the dark.
Next, for the female image I wanted to incorporate was retrieved from the popular generative art programs, Deep Dream Generator. A simple image in the warm, composite colors of brown that are anything but neutral to me.
Below are my steps in the creation process:
Deep Dream Generator Text input:
"The brown-skinned, thin lips beautiful and ethereal angel."
Modifiers:
digital painting elegant fantasy intricate oil on canvas very attractive crisp quality colourful very cute light reflections
Model: Stable
Size: 1449 X 1449 (2.10 MP)
Deep Dream Generator Result:

To represent the background, I chose a free-sourced abstract background image that I felt complemented my fractals:

With the images selected, blending them required a design program. The one I use regularly is Canva. I uploaded them to take advantage of the pro features, such as background removal, sizing, colorizing, and filters. In this project, colorizing was an important tool in reinventing my pure fractal to a deep rich burgundy color.
Below are my procedures I used:

To a blank, white canvas, I added my pure fractal titled "Star in Full Bloom".

I switched the canvas background color to black so that layers between the fractal would show its beauty.
Also, I wanted a contoured shape, so I chose a frame that would allow the fractal to only display certain iteration sections.

Enlarged the fractal to fill the screen. Colorized it, then applied the flower frame. I love the shape.

Added the free-sourced colorful abstract image. Chose not to remove the background.

Duplicated the free-sourced abstract image into four parts to use as the background.

Add my Night's Reflection pure fractal.
Removed background of Night's Reflection fractal; duplicated and repositioned both at bottom of screen.

Added female generative art image.

Removed background of stable diffusion image. Resized and reposition image, then duplicated for the other side of canvas. Completed project.
Below is my completed project.

Thanks for your visit. I hope you liked my mixed media art project entry for Alien Art Hive's Contest No. 10 - with theme REBIRTH.
What is you idea of Rebirth? What comes to mind when you think of the concept?
