Moshed At the Turning Point | Mixed Media Project

We move forward. We believe we're going into a better situation than we left behind. Eventually, we come to a place in time or space where we pause. Nothing has gone right so far, we think. How is continuing down that same path going to produce a different result? we may ask ourselves.

Of course, ourselves should answer, "it won't."

At that juncture, you decide that the turning point has arrived. A decision has to be made one way or the other.

I came to such a crossroad. It was then I summoned the courage to say "NO" I can no longer go the path you all have paved for me."

So I turned my back on the semi-forced responsibility that could have been taken on by others. I allowed them to step back and praise me for stepping up.

Days turned into months turned into years.

Do I regret taking on the responsibility? Sometimes. Then often I reflect on the juxtaposition of the two situations when viewed in terms of the outcomes.

It's then I realized that by doing so, I helped extend the life of a loved one compared to the outcome in the other situation I wasn't involved in.

The experience, though tough to climb through to the other side, taught me the nature and extent of seeking approval, holding one's self out as superior, and the downfall of the lonely road to illumination and recovering one's own worth in the turning point.

The approach to my design for this project was that of reflection. Hindsight through pain and hurt. Earlier in the week, I received notice of an upgrade to the popular program, PhotoMosh. The upgrade is free because I purchased the Pro version of the program. I learned that the site changed its name to simply "MOSH", along with upgrading some features. I'm still exploring the site to discover what's new.

In the meantime, I took the opportunity to use a feature to my design I'd previously. But the first step was to create the still version of the design.

This part I completed in Canva, my design program. My procedures which began with a blank, white canvas. I then add layers of elements in accordance with my upgraded Annual Pro Membership that includes tools to colorize, remove backgrounds, resize, filter, duplicate, and reposition items as required.

Here is the completed still design that I used to create the PhotoMosh gif. In the design, I loved that the female is facing the camera while taking a path in the opposite direction. Once she arrives at her turning point, she sits in meditative position while she contemplates her future.

In the new MOSH, for the effect I wanted to achieve, I applied the filter titled "SLICES" with a small amount of movement: .063. I didn't want much movement to blur the base image. The result resembled a slow moving water stream as if contemplating a thought.

What I like about this version is the trickling of water along the edge of the design. Also, the tiny dot in the upper part of the female's eye near the iris moves. The action emits an eerie vibe as if the person is in deep thought.

Here is my finished design utilizing the Mosh program. The exported version is in gif format.

Below are the images I included in my design. The first image, a fiery sunset, I designed in Nvidia Gaugan. I especially liked the pure fractal I created in the advanced version of the fractal rendering program, Apophysis 7X titled "Star Veil in Gray". The design created a unique fantasy background. Other images include free-sourced ones and a stable diffusion white rose image I retrieved from StarryAI.
