Well, as you can see from the above project, I was feeling a bit wacky today as I wasn't feeling well. While searching the refrigerator for a fulfilling meal, I gave up. But I needed to eat something. The Diabetic meds were overwhelming, and nausea overtook me. About thirty minutes later, I definitely needed to hydrate and consume some healthy food.
But I had a craving for fast food.
Swearing off dining out for a month in my No-Buy February challenge in the Saturday Savers Club, I only allowed myself one dining out meal per week. And I had already punched that ticket. That receipt lay on the counter staring at me as though taunting, "I dare you!"
I plopped down and thought for a moment. It suddenly dawned on me that the time I spent pining over those fajitas and quesadilla dip, I could have defrosted a bowl of my favorite soup, prepared a dinner salad, then toasted some garlic bread. Doesn't that sound delicious? A light meal to ease the nausea.
It's an easy recipe when trying to cut down on expenses. And entertaining, including dining out, was largest ticket item in my monthly budget.
As I was eating what turned out to be a tasty meal, I thought about my struggles during my lifetime with healthy eating and weight loss. Somewhere along the time, I confused eating healthy with just biting the bullet and consuming tons of salad.
All I ever managed to do was become frustrated. I can say that I got lost in a salad. I never acquired the famed "Size 4" I was searching for. I'm a size 14 and will be that until the last day of my life, I predict. I gave up chasing the weight loss and opted instead for healthy eating.
I digress.
Back to my mixed media art project. With the salad on my mind, I searched for an abstract image with the color mixture of green. Looking beyond the image, I found one that resembled a bowl of salad. At least in my mind.
It's amazing what I discover when I flip images vertically and horizontally. New meaning and life appear. I share with you one such image that prompted my project, "On Becoming A Size 4, I Got Lost In A Salad".
For my current mixed media art project, I found an interesting surreal abstract image. Flipping it vertically, it became my salad garden. What I discovered inside the abstract image were arms and an elongated face staring at me. So I accentuated the eyes by bringing them to life with white circles. Then, I added a touch of exasperation with a drawing tool. Doing so enabled me to construct a sad facial expression.
Including a wacky-eyed image for confusion and a dress with a small waist, rounded out my scene.

I used Canva to blend the images and remove backgrounds where needed. Below are my procedures.

To a blank, white canvas, I added the abstract image,

Flipped the abstract image vertically, then resized it. Next, I duplicated it to fit the entire screen.

Drew the round, white eyes and red lip with the drawing tool.

Added the dress.

Lastly, I added the silly alien face image and duplicated it to fit on the edge of the strings in the abstract image as though hanging from the salad. Completed the project.
I share with you my completed project:

Thanks for taking the time to view my post. I hope you like my mixed media art project.
