A few days ago, I discovered that NFT Showroom is partnering with Alien Art Hive for a SKULL ART CHALLENGE. I decided to participate. According to the post, you can join in by:
- make art incorporating a skull (or skeleton);
- mint it on: https://nftshowroom.com;
- make a blog post about your art and link to your minted piece in Alien Art Hive Community; and
- use "nftshowroom" in your tags
According to the challenge post, NFTShowroom will feature all the SKULL ART minted on the NFTShowroom home page / twitter, and Alien Art Hive will be curating participants' blog posts. This challenge is already ongoing and will continue until the end of March.

Below is my skull art project:
My approach to this first Skull Art Project was the theme being vulnerable and baring your private information. To bare one's self is to lay open the innermost secrets to thoughts, actions, and feelings. Exposing the depths of your being in this information age is unwise. This is especially true for senior citizens.
Unscrupulous individuals stalking for the chance to take advantage of the elderly are successful in numerous instances. They prey on their unsuspecting, vulnerable, and trusting hearts.
Myself and members of my family have been threatened by people who place telephone calls to us. They demand action, such as sending cash or gift cards for payment of debts. The funny thing about this type of scam is that we have no debts from the companies they state.
Other type of scams include reduction of interest rates. But in order to receive the reduction, one must give out personal and financial information, including account numbers to access the discounts.
Still other callers request you to call them back. However, the telephone number listed on the caller ID is not valid. Most people, but especially seniors, never recover after being scammed out of large sums of their savings.
Recently, our county held a scam seminar for seniors. I recommended it to family and friends to protect them for loss.
Offline scams are only the tip of the iceberg. Online scams I feel are far worse that entice individuals to divulge their private information. The projects seem reputable, but are often attempts to lure one in with trust, then elicit funds and disappear.
Instead of working hard, earning for themselves, and doing things honestly, I guess it's much easier to scam others out of their hard earned savings.
This type of activity has ramped up over the past decades as more advanced technology and organizations' mishandling of citizens information allow access to scammers.
One has to keep their privacy close to the vest to ward off potential damage.
In this current mixed media art project, my theme centered around three pure fractals I created in the advanced fractal rendering program, Apophysis 7X. The first one is a beautiful blazing red figure that I titled "Red Clouds". Once I studied it closely, the image resembled a wing. It was perfect once I duplicated it and actually used it as wings on the skeleton.

I also included a skeleton whose innards are laid bare. The theme is that a person is vandalized. To assist with creating the skeleton, I utilized Wombo Dream. My text input: "Jail bars skeleton eyes nose black red bulging storm gaudy." resulted in a nice skeleton image. Other images I included created a theme of restriction as if behind bars.

I produced this still version in Canva, my design program, from the images above.
- To a blank, white canvas, I added the Wombo Dream skeleton;
- Duplicated the skeleton to fill the entire canvas as the background;
- Added the black skeleton free-sourced image. Removed background and centered it on the canvas;
- Added the flower and fractals, including the red wings.
I then animated the still version with a 5-second video in Deep Dream Generator:
