After completing the Cosmic Creations No. 10 Contest theme "Rebirth." I wanted to share with you another mixed media art project related to the theme.
In my "Rebirth" Theme No. 3, I wanted to portray, a time and space where I traveled in my mind's eye. The thirteenth dimension. Where creativity dwelt in abundance as a myriad of colors, shapes, and weightlessness mingled to form a web of intrigue. As I darted between threads of plasma dripping from their host, I reached out and grabbed a thread nearby, caught hold and refused to let go.
The image lay bare on my blank canvas, ready.
For this mixed media art project, a pure fractal I created a couple weeks go came to mind as the web background design. Its endless iterations creating various patterns intertwined with bursts of color resembled a kaleidoscope once I squeezed my pupils and released. An odd analogy, but true.
It's the first pure fractal I show below that's rendered on a transparent background. However, when placed on a black background, its ethereal qualities and intricate details vibrate.
As always, I try to locate other unique type mixed media to pair with my fractals that I feel enhances the scene to bring out the color or provide a contrast. For this project, I

With the images selected, blending them required a design program. The one I use regularly is Canva. I uploaded all to take advantage of the pro features, such as background removal, sizing, colorizing, and filters.
Below are my procedures:

To a blank, white canvas, I added the pure fractal. You can't see the details yet due to it being rendered transparent
Changed canvas background to black. Resized fractal to fill canvas; then duplicated it for a complete background.

Added eye. With another image, I created a tower and placed it above the eye.
Removed background of the eye and repositioned both eye and tower.

Added worms. Colorized each section.

I created a tear image from triangle shape I resized and colorized, then added it to the bottom of the eye. Duplicated it and applied different filters. Completed project.
Below is the completed project.

Thanks for your visit. I hope you liked my mixed media art project entry for Alien Art Hive's Contest No. 10 - Theme Rebirth.
