Hola Hivers, esta es mi entrada en el Concurso de Arte de #Splinterlands de esta semana. He elegido a AQUATUS una unidad épica de tipo agua. Realmente no recuerdo como se me vino la idea de hacer una versión bebé del personaje, creo que solo se me ocurrió de repente y decide seguir adelante para ver como quedaría rehacerlo de una manera completamente diferente.
Hi Hivers, this is my entry in this week's #Splinterlands Art Contest. I've chosen AQUATUS an epic water type unit. I don't really remember how the idea came to me to make a baby version of the character, I think it just came to me out of the blue and decide to go ahead to see what it would look like to remake him in a completely different way.
El proceso fue algo directo, con un boceto que rápidamente pintaría con colores desaturados y tonos pastel, para ayudar con la imagen tierna de un bebé, además de sus ojos enormes que ayudan mucho también a darle ese toque infantil. Enrollado en su manta como recién despertando.
The process was somewhat straightforward, with a sketch that I would quickly paint with desaturated colors and pastel tones, to help with the tender image of a baby, plus his huge eyes that also help a lot to give him that childish touch. Rolled up in his blanket as if he was just waking up.
Seguí refinando los detalles y agregando el brazo que faltaba, ya que la idea principal era tener solo un brazo visible, pero resultaba algo aburrido y no se veía equilibrado. Luego coloque las luces con una capa de añadir brillo como siempre, y guarde todo en una carpeta que duplique, coloque una en modo multiplicar y la superior en modo añadir brillo también, para que se viera la textura con las luces, y sobre todo esto una capa de modificación con curva de tono que pueden ver la configuración que use en la imagen superior, que le dio un toque extra a las paletas de colores. Fue divertido hacer algo diferente como siempre jejeje.
I continued refining the details and adding the missing arm, since the main idea was to have only one visible arm, but it was a bit boring and didn't look balanced. Then I placed the lights with an add glow layer as usual, and saved everything in a folder that I duplicated, placed one in multiply mode and the top one in add glow mode as well, so that the texture could be seen with the lights, and on top of all this a tone curve modification layer that you can see the settings I used in the image above, that gave an extra touch to the color palettes. It was fun to do something different as always hehehe.
