Hello, how are you? I almost missed this week's challenge, and I don't want that to happen, even though my stomach is cramping, no one can stop me LOL. The sun surprisingly came out at this time, which was a surprise for me because I saw in the news that there are 3 more low-pressure areas entering the Philippines, like why?
We are still lucky here in the province, the rain was absorbed by the trees around us. Some of the big cities are getting flooded, which is so sad. I saw a post from Facebook, someone took a photo of a tarpaulin saying "this is where your taxes go," and literally that tarpaulin is flooded by water, like it is so sad to imagine.
By the way, for my entry for this week's challenge, I drew Exploding. The glowing fire hair caught my eyes, which is why I chose him, and it is perfect for the ideas I wanted to draw inside my head, so yeah, I chose him for my entry for this week. I like the process of it and I enjoy it a lot.
The Process:
For the line art, it took me four revisions before I was satisfied with the sketches I made. For this part, I use the marker detail brush to draw the line art and achieve clean line art. I turn on the stabilization of the brush.
Before I add the base color, I make sure that the stabilization of the brush is turned on for this part, and to add the base color easily, I use the shape fill tool brush. I make sure every part of the character has its layer and just group clips later.
For this part of the process, I added shadows and highlights to the part that needed to be darker and lighter. I still use the shape fill tool brush for this part, and it makes it easier to make shapes that I want, so yeah, this brush is really helpful to me.
For this part of the process, I start blurring the part that I added shadows and highlights to make it look smoother and more blendable, and I added texture to the canvas too to make it more unique, and it is a ritual for me to do that.
For this part of the process, I start adding more layers of shadows and highlights. As the process goes, I see progress every time, so do trust the process.
For this part of the process, I darken the background just to see where I need to add more shadows and highlights, which helps. I decided to lower the opacity of the line art. Just for me to see some part that needed to be fixed. And I am starting to add more details to the character.
For the final process, I as a final background color I decided to add a dark red and because his power is fire, I added fire as his background design I do it simple this time and what I do is I used the shape fill tool to add the shape of fire and then I added a glow effect on it so it will look like it is really burning fire to make the fire more realistic I added a smoke behind and I think I did good I like it.
Thank you for visiting. See you on my next blog. :D
