Today I want to share with you my most recent participation in the Splinterlands weekly art contest. This time, I have decided to bring the character "Angel of Light" to life again, but with a special touch: anime style.
In this captivating artwork, the "Angel of Light" emerges with majesty from a celestial realm. Her wings, outstretched and full of detail, appear to be woven with threads of golden and pink light. Each feather radiates an ethereal glow, as if imbued with the very essence of divinity. The background, soft and warm, suggests a sunrise in the heavens, where colors melt into a symphony of pastel shades.
The "Angel of Light" dress is a marvel in itself. The pink fabric flows gracefully, enveloping her figure with delicacy. Gold and purple accents adorn the hem and sleeve edges, adding a touch of elegance. The skirt folds in soft pleats, as if catching the heavenly breeze.
The face of the "Angel of Light" is serene, eyes closed in meditation or contemplation. Her lips barely quirk a smile, as if she knows cosmic secrets. The hair, short and disheveled by an invisible breeze, adds dynamism and movement to the composition. It is a portrait of serenity and divine grace.
The creation of this work has been a wonderful journey. I started with a simple sketch, capturing the essence of the character and her pose. Then, I moved on to outlining, making sure that each line conveyed the delicacy and majesty of the "Angel of Light". The coloring process was especially rewarding, as I was able to experiment with a palette of soft, luminous colors, achieving the ethereal effect I envisioned.

The Angel of Light protects and guides her Khymian children. The Angel is the only person in the Splinterlands that can resurrect the dead. Many worship the Angel of Light as a Goddess, even though this is forbidden by the Silver Shield. These heretics are called Angelists.

Process / Proceso
Creating the "Angel of Light" was a fascinating process that allowed me to explore and experiment with various elements of digital art. I want to share with you the steps I followed to bring this work to life.
It all started with a sketch. In this initial stage, my goal was to capture the essence of the character and his pose. I used light, loose strokes to define the Angel of Light's majestic posture and outstretched wings. The sketch is a crucial phase, as it lays the foundation upon which the entire design will be built. This is where I played with proportions and basic details, making sure that the overall composition was balanced and attractive.
With the sketch ready, I moved on to outlining. At this stage, I fine-tuned the lines of the sketch, defining the contours and details of the character more precisely. I used a finer brush to create crisp, clear lines, highlighting the wings, dress and facial features of the "Angel of Light". This step required patience and attention to detail, as each line must be precise to convey the delicacy and majesty of the character.
The next step was coloring. This is where the "Angel of Light" began to come to life. I chose a palette of soft, luminous colors, with gold and pink tones for the wings and dress. The coloring technique consisted of applying base layers of color and then carefully blending the tones to achieve smooth, natural transitions. This phase is especially rewarding, as the character begins to emerge with all its beauty and vitality.
Once the basic coloring was complete, I proceeded to apply shadows and highlights. The shadows were added to give depth and volume to the figure, making the folds of the dress and the feathers on the wings look more realistic. I used darker shades of the base color and adjusted the opacity of the brush to create a soft, subtle effect. The shimmers, on the other hand, were applied to highlight the areas that catch more light, such as the tips of the wings and the golden edges of the dress. These additional details add a touch of magic and enhance the ethereal feel of the character.
Finally, I made sure to go over all the work, making minor adjustments and refining details where necessary. This final step is crucial to ensure that the work has a polished and professional finish.

Todo comenzó con un boceto. En esta etapa inicial, mi objetivo era capturar la esencia del personaje y su pose. Utilicé trazos ligeros y sueltos para definir la postura majestuosa de la "Angel of Light" y sus alas extendidas. El boceto es una fase crucial, ya que establece la base sobre la cual se construirá todo el diseño. Aquí es donde jugué con las proporciones y los detalles básicos, asegurándome de que la composición general fuera equilibrada y atractiva.
Con el boceto listo, pasé al delineado. En esta etapa, afiné las líneas del boceto, definiendo con mayor precisión los contornos y detalles del personaje. Utilicé un pincel más fino para crear líneas claras y nítidas, destacando las alas, el vestido y los rasgos faciales de la "Angel of Light". Este paso requiere paciencia y atención al detalle, ya que cada línea debe ser precisa para transmitir la delicadeza y majestuosidad del personaje.
El siguiente paso fue el coloreado. Aquí es donde la "Angel of Light" comenzó a cobrar vida. Elegí una paleta de colores suaves y luminosos, con tonos dorados y rosas para las alas y el vestido. La técnica de coloreado consistió en aplicar capas base de color y luego mezclar cuidadosamente los tonos para lograr transiciones suaves y naturales. Esta fase es especialmente gratificante, ya que el personaje comienza a emerger con toda su belleza y vitalidad.
Una vez que el coloreado básico estuvo completo, procedí a aplicar sombras y brillos.
