Hello my dear art and game lovers, my name is Manuel as many of you already know and I would like to welcome you a new opportunity to my artistic blog, this is a very special occasion because I come to present a new drawing for the weekly dynamic 5th Rada Quest Fan Art Contest, my 3rd participation so far and I confess that I did not imagine how much fun I would have knowing and illustrating about the characters of this fabulous game. In my last participation for the last contest I made a work about a kind of fortune teller, and this time I wanted to vary a little more, as many who follow me for a long time know I'm a big fan of warriors and fighting games and I usually draw a lot about this, that's why I decided to represent a character of the game that was related to it, and for this I chose Ivonne (Divine Hammer), which is a kind of gladiator of ancient times which is characterized by carrying her powerful Divine Hammer with which is extremely lethal at short and medium distance; without anything else to add, I leave you with the creation process and I hope you like it a lot:
Hola mi querida gente amante del arte y los juego, mi nombre en Manuel como muchos ya sabrán y me gustaría darles la bienvenida una nueva oportunidad a mi blog artístico, esta es una ocasión muy especial ya que vengo a presentarles un nuevo dibujo para la dinámica semanal 5th Rada Quest Fan Art Contest, mi 3ra participación hasta ahora y les confieso que no me imagine lo que me divertiría conociendo e ilustrando sobre los personajes de este fabuloso juego. En mi última participación para el concurso pasado realice una obra sobre una especie de adivina del futuro, y esta vez quise variar un poco más, como muchas que me siguen desde hace tiempo sabrán soy muy fan tanto de los juego de guerreros y lucha y suelo dibujar mucho sobre esto, es por eso que decidí representar un personaje del juego que se relacionara con ello, y por esto elegí a Ivonne (Divine Hammer), la cual es una especie de gladiadora de época antigua la cual se caracteriza por llevar consigo su poderoso Mazo Divino con el cual es sumamente letal a corta y media distancia; sin nada mas que añadir, los dejo con el proceso de creación y espero les guste mucho:

As my representation would be based on a warrior, what I was looking for was to try several sketch structures that would fit precisely to this essence, among the ideas I had I came up with one that was basically Ivonne (Divine Hammer) brandishing or swinging on her head her big hammer as if she was about to hit or break something; finally that idea of the hammer I decided to take it and once the sketch was ready I started to look for colors to give life to my work, in this case I took a pink tone for the skin, and for the clothes I varied a little between brown, blue and white tones. The skin work I did with a lot of patience, first I created a layer where with the airbrush I was giving the basic touches of volume and shape to the face, arms, torso and other visible areas while blurring a little certain areas; and when the skin looked a little more alive and real the next thing I did was to take the watercolor brush and go detailing a little the lights coming from the left side of my canvas, and also I was creating certain faint shadows and also occlusion shadow where the light does not reach.
Como mi representación se basaría en una guerrera pues lo que busque fue probar varias estructuras de boceto que se adecuaran precisamente a esta esencia, entre las ideas que tuve se me ocurrió una que era básicamente de Ivonne (Divine Hammer) blandiendo o balanceando sobre su cabeza su gran Martillo como si estuviese apunto de golpear o romper algo; finalmente esa idea del martillo que la decidí tomar y una vez listo el boceto empecé a buscar colores para ir dándole vida a mi obra, en este caso tome una tonalidad rosada para la piel, y para la vestimenta varie un poco entre los tonos marrones, azules y blancos. El trabajo de piel lo hice con mucha paciencia, primero cree una capa donde con el aerógrafo fui dando los toques básicos de volumen y forma al rostro, brazos, torso y demás zonas visibles mientras difuminaba un poco ciertas zonas; ya cuando la piel se veía un poco mas viva y real lo siguiente que hice fue tomar el pincel de acuarela e ir detallando un poco las luces provenientes desde el lado izquierdo de mi lienzo, y además fui creando ciertas sombras tenues y también sombra de oclusión donde no llega la luz.
In the 2nd step I dedicated myself to working a little more on (Ivonne's) face, I gave it a little warmth with the airbrush brush and at the same time softened it a little so that they fit more naturally to the skin under the face . lowering the opacity a little; Then I took a slightly dark red color and painted small cuts and open scars in various areas of the skin to give the idea that the character is fighting hard, to achieve a better effect that the wounds are real, what I did. It was painting them all on the visible areas of the skin and then applying the layer effect (Burn). Once I finished with the scars, the next thing I did was paint the eyes and lips, for the eyes I took a light blue color that I really liked, and with a small brush I gradually detailed each use of the eyes in a way . separated and giving each one its characteristic shine; Then for the lips I used a pink-purple to transition with the skin, here I was basically looking for more of an intermediate volume, but with a slightly softer and smoother texture than with the eyes.
En el 2do paso me dediqué a trabajar un poco mas el rostro de (Ivonne), fui dándole un poco de calidez con el pincel de aerógrafo y al mismo tiempo suavizando un poco para que se acoplaran de manera más natural a la piel debajo del rostro bajando un poco la opacidad; luego tome un color rojo un poco oscuro y fui pintando pequeños cortes y cicatrices abiertas en varias zonas de la piel para dar un poco la idea de que el personaje este luchando fuertemente, para logar un mejor efecto de que las heridas son reales lo que hice fue pintarlas todas en las zonas visibles de piel y luego aplique el efecto de capa (Burn). Una vez que termine con las cicatrices lo siguiente que realice fue el pintado de los ojos y labios, para los ojos tome un color azul celeste que me gustó mucho, y con un pincel pequeño fui detallando poco a poco cada uso de los ojos de forma separada y dándole a cada uno si brillo característico; después para los labios use un rosa-morado para hacer transición con la piel, aquí básicamente buscaba más un volumen intermedio, pero con una textura un poco mas suave y lisa que con los ojos.
For the 3rd step I dedicated myself entirely to the construction of the attire of the character, here I took a little more freedom to choose a little brighter shades like blue for example to try to give a more personal touch to the work, I created the suit with the blue color that covered the area of the shoulders, arms and legs, my idea here is that this fabric looked a little thick but not so much to hinder Ivonne when it comes to move; then with a bubble brush I created a small pattern like water in the sleeves and forearms area. After finishing with the softer areas of the clothes I moved on to the creation of Ivonne's protective armor, here I made use of a wide range of brown tones to create a kind of armor like extremely hard leather, for the base I first applied a little airbrush to give that curved appearance in the bust area, shoulder pads and others; then with a flat brush I was detailing little by little the armor and giving it a very shiny texture with certain vertical and horizontal lines.
Para el 3er paso me dedique enteramente a realizar la construcción del atuendo del personaje, aquí si me tome un poco mas de libertad para elegir tonos un poco mas brillantes como el azul por ejemplo para así trata de dar un toque más personal a la obra, cree el traje con el color azul que cubriese la zona de los hombros, brazos y las piernas, mi idea aquí es que esta tela se viese un poco gruesa pero no tanto para que estorbara a Ivonne a la hora de moverse; luego con un pincel de burbujas fui creando un pequeño patrón como de agua en la zona de las mangas y los antebrazos. Luego de terminar con las zonas de la ropa mas suaves me pase a la creación de la armadura protectora de Ivonne, aquí hice uso de una gran gama de tonos marrones para crear una especie de armadura como de cuero sumamente duro, para la base primero aplique un poco de aerógrafo para ir dando un poco esa apariencia curva en la zona del busto, hombreras y demás; posteriormente con un pincel plano fui detallando poco a poco la armadura y dándole un textura muy brillante con ciertas líneas verticales y horizontales.
For the painting of the hammer I wanted to create something that would make the character look a little more intimidating, and for that I came up with a more rudimentary and medieval shape with small peaks or on the sides of the hammer, to achieve the first texture of the hammer I used a range of intermediate grays and bluish grays trying to create a kind of hammer with a cylindrical shape; to give a little more notoriety to the whole hammer, specially to the peaks what I did was to create a new layer in (shine) mode and to create lines in those zones of the hammer which are closer to the ambient illumination. To give a good culmination to my work I came up with the idea of painting a background like the roof of a temple or old building to give a little perspective that the character we are seeing from the bottom up, use a scarlet red color along with some dark browns to create a kind of windows at the top and leave open a small skylight just above; as I already had the skylight in the ceiling I had the idea at the last moment to complement the background a little more by painting a bloody red moon to give my drawing that last cool touch.
Para el pintado del mazo quise crear algo que hiciese ver un poco mas intimidante al personaje, y para eso se me ocurrió darle una forma un poco mas rudimentarias y medieval con pequeños picos o pues en los lados del martillo, para logra la primera textura del martillo use una gama de grises intermedios y grises azulados tratando de crear una especie de mazo con forma cilíndrica; para darle un poco más de notoriedad a todo el martillo, en especial a los picos lo que hice fue crear una nueva capa en modo (shine) e ir creando líneas en aquellas zonas del martillo las cuales sean mas cercanas a la iluminación ambiental. Para darle una buena culminación a mi obra se me ocurrió la idea de pintar un fondo como de techo de un templo o construcción antigua para así dar un poco la perspectiva de que al personaje lo estamos viendo desde abajo hacia arriba, usen un color rojo escarlata junto con algunos marrones oscuros para crear unas especie de ventanales en la parte alta y deje abierto un pequeño traga luz justo arriba; como ya tenia el tragaluz en el techo se me vino a ultimo momento la idea de complementar un poco más el fondo pintando una luna roja sangrienta que le diera a mi dibujo ese último toque genial.
